Me too! It feels like its centuries away! We just went to a wedding on Monday and I was so jealous, I was like I wish this was my wedding!!!

What I'm really annoyed about is this ongoing thing with Fh's cousin. When FH and I had been dating for only a few months or a year, I remeber I could not be invited to family events to meet the family and the excuse was that his cousin was going to make the big announcement any day that he and his on again off again girlfrined were engaged. The big announcement never came. 4.5 years later, Fh and I got engaged. A year after that, FH's cousin finally propsed to his gf, and now they're getting married in september. How did they plan a wedding in less than a year? I guess it's a lot easier for them though with $$$, being older and much more established, but stilll....I can't help but be like 'when is OUR turn'

I just got engaged in May, but I feel like I have been engaged for years, my FI and I have been dating for 5 years and started taking about marriage about 2-3 years ago. My best friend is getting married this August, and I'm so excited for her, but this just makes me want to get married now even more! We need to save money too, so we can't really get married sooner than 2007, plus we are young still (23 and 24) but I have a feeling these next two years are going to be looong.

I just got engaged in May too and your wedding date is planned for 1 week before mine!!
We are around the same age, I just turned 25, he proposed on my b-day...

Im a week after you! Ive been engaged since 2003!!! So maybe it HAS been forever !!!! I was 20 though so I just took my time with it. Ill be 24 when I get married- weve been together for 5 years now so im anticipating the wedding now more and more Dont worry ladies it will be here sooner than we know it!!!!

I thought I put June...but I clicked July by mistake, out date is 6/1/07....oops! But we are still close in date. We booked our reception at the inn at East Wind. How about you two...any ideas where you want your reception? Have you started looking yet?

Well Congrats anyway, we are still close...
I have looked at several places... My favorite so far being The Woodlands, I am going to go see The De Seversky Mansion on Sat, I have a really good feeling this is going to be the place, but I am not quite sure about the price range. I havent scene any post about the pricing on this place...
I guess I will have to wait and see, and I will let everyone know the price I get.

DH's cousin is in the same spot. They got engaged right after us.. maybe a month or 2 later. Anyway we had what I feel was a long engagement.. exactly 2 years. DH's cousin who got engaged right after us is not getting married until Mid 2007. She has been getting very fustrated watching cousin after cousin get engaged after her and set a date before hers... I don't think it was really a money issue with them but more of at the time she wanted to finish school first.
But I can tell you we are all really looking fwd. to 2007 for their day to finally come!!! they really earned it!

Yeah....it is more of finishing school for us too, but we also need to save some money as well. If we were both done with school though, the wedding would probably be in 2006. I'm sure these 2 years will go by fast with all the planning and things to do before the wedding. Don't worry girls!

I've been engaged for sooooo long! But the years are flying by. I booked the hall and church this year and I can't believe next year will be everything else.
Sometimes it seems like forever and then sometimes it seems too soon

Don't worry girls the time will fly. I got engaged almost 9 months ago and the time has just flown. I can't believe i have less than a year and a half to go now. Take the time to relax and plan at your own pace.

I just got engaged on 7/3/05 and my FH and I are planning a 7/07 wedding but we have been together for 5 1/2 years so I am with all of you, but I think it is best to wait 2 years for me b/c I want to have time to plan, I feel very anxious though to get everything done early, does anyone else feel the same?

I definitely feel the same way as you!! I have the Hall, DJ and Photgrapher booked already, and I'm like what's next?? FH tells me to relax.... So I'm trying to do that and enjoy the summer. I'll start booking more things in the fall!

Congratulations!!!! I too feel the same way! Taking my time with the wedding planning but like somoene else mentioned before if it werent for school then Id be getting married in 2006 also! Thats Ok at least we have this site to collect and share ideas til 2007 arrives! Happy planning!
