Why are comforters so expensive?

I am SO over the one we have and need something fresh but these things are a small fortune!!

I guess because of the material that the comforter is made out of or maybe because of the name brand. I am not sure.

we found a nice one at sears, not expensive.

They're so much cheaper abroad...it's so weird.

We have a duvet, so that we can change the cover easily.

I was just thinking the same thing last night. I was looking through a Domestications catalog that is running a sale on comforters .. but even the sale prices were expensive (to me) .. though there were some very stunning ones for about $50 or so .. for just the comforter.

I got lucky with one we have (Queen size) .. I found it in a small shop, on sale ... for $19.99


.. however, a few months later the place was out of business.

Bed in a bags are pretty cheap..not much of a selection though..

I KNOW! me and FH couldnlt find a good one! We got a very plain and simple one for $20 a macy's!
