seriously!! I went shopping the other day and as the clerk scanned the grapes I noticed that it rang up at $9.25!!!!!! I was like: FORGET THE GRAPES!!! I REFUSE to pay $9 for GRAPES!!!! ( guess i should've checked the price per lb before putting them in the cart)!!!!

I lurve BJ's...they have eggs and soymilk and lots of stuff SO cheap. YAY. Now that I work at a BJ's I cna drool over stuff even more...even though I never really leave my card display.

Did you know there are people whose entire job it is to cean up and replenish hallmark displays? I never wven THOUGHT of that before...but that's my job

I used to shop at the Farmingdlae one and then at the Brooklyn One.

I was there about a month ago with my friend (she has an acct there)...and we were right in the card section too!!!!

A month ago the cards were American Greetings. Now it's Hallmark I'm usually there M,W and F mornings.

I have SO much work cut out for me because we have such huge turnover that we reordered the ENTIRE display and I have to put it all out now...

I use Teri's list (www.terislist.com) and we save so much on groceries. This week was a bad week (because we haven't been grocery shopping in like a month) and we still got $165 worth of groceries for about $93. Most of the time I save 50% or more.

If you don't want to do the list, then go to www.dealagogo.com for couponing tips. The biggest ones:

USE COUPONS IN CONJUNCTION WITH SALES - Biggest savings right there. Hopefully your store doubles - that's the best and a good part of why we're able to save so much. But even if they don't, it's still worth it.

STOCKPILE - get more than one newspaper (I get 4 a week) and buy multiples of items when there is a killer sale. I have 8 bottles of Diet Coke right now, 15 cans of soup, tons of chicken, etc. It's why we were able not to go grocery shopping for a month.

Don't be too brand conscious. If you are, when you see a coupon for the item you want, get as many as possible, and then wait for a sale in order to use them. My DH uses Execedrin, and I'm often able to get it for $1 a bottle. The last time I got 11! You can go to sites like www.thecouponclippers.com to get extras for things you really need.

I also noticed that certain grocery stores are sooo expensive, Pathmark and Walbaums can be very very expensive. I live in Queens and live right near a walbaums, but I drive 10-15 minutes away to the next town where they have a C-Town and their prices are sooo much cheaper and they have a better meat department, it's so worth it. I always look through the store sale flyer when I go in and stock up on stuff that I normally buy but are on Sale that week, so I buy more. I'm not a big coupon cutter which probably would save more money, but I just am to lazy to clip and then sort through them at the register etc...BIG IMPORTANT TIP!! Always watch the register scanner on your sale items - I swear almost every time there is one thing that is advertised as a sale on the shelf and rings up regular price and the cashiers don't catch them. This happens all the time in all grocery stores so make sure you get the sales when it is scanned. It will save you money.

i have to agree! we've always gone to waldbaums (which people always said was so expensive).. we never really shopped anywhere else, so we didnt think it was that bad. We went to pathmark 2 weeks ago, and it was SOOOO much cheper. we still spent like $150ish, but that wouldve probably been alot more at waldbaums (also, like nsgraham... ew only grocery shop 1-2x per month)

I like stop and shop but they are more expensive then Pathmark too. BUT when stop and Shop has a sale they usually have a REALLY good sale.

I feel that Pathmark has the best prices and do double coupon every week.
I hate to tell you but the grocery stores in other states are pretty much the same. My parents have lived in FL and GA and the prices are really not much different than here.

pathmark eh? see, i like shoprite, but the one we go to is in plainview and we're in huntington and it takes like 20 minutes to get there. we have a waldbaums and a king kullen in hunt. village, but $$$. dh loves fairway and trader joes, but i'll have to try pathmark! thanks ladies.
