Why are people so insensitive????

My brother died 8 years ago. Well, today I went to my moms and checked the mail. There was an envelope addressed to my brother from a law firm that represented them when he was younger. Now I understand that they do mass mailings and such, but they have sent him stuff for eight years now and we call at least once a year asking them to take his name off their list as it is very painful receiving mail in his name. Not to mention a majority of the stuff they send comes around Christmas and his birthday. They always apologize and say they will take his name off immediately, but they never do. I actually took the mail today because I don't want my mom to get upset. She has been very emotional lately as my brothers birthday is next week. I just don't understand how they could be so insensitive when we have repeatedly asked them to remove his name. I am going to call them right now. And I am not going to be nice!!! Jerks!!

That is awful. I hope this time they finally get the message.

I just called and the woman said, oh the lawyer has someone outside the office do the mailings. I said so what, I have called for 8 years and each time I am told it will be taken care of. She said ok, I will stress it to him this time. Yeah right, I am sure there will be something new in a few months.

I just had a thought, if you asked them to change the address, I'm sure they would do it immediatly. I wonder if there is anyway to change the address to a bogus one, at least that way you won't be getting the mail anymore. Just a thought, because it doesn't sound like you are going to have much luck getting them to stop. Sorry.

Maybe send a letter to the Senior Partner there - I find that usually gets some better attention to often overlooked problems.

I know how you feel, my father died of lung cancer and still gets mailings from Marlboro.

Try sending a letter asking them again to write a letter, cc it to the bar association also.

This happened years ago to my family (rec. mail), what my father did was call and inform them that they moved and then gave them the address for the cemetary. They were quite shocked but the mail never came again.

I am so sorry to hear this I hope you do call and this gets resolved once and for all. I remember when my mom first passed away and we would receive phone calls from telemarketers, banking institutions, and such. It pretty much sucks.
