why are rehearsal dinner places so expensive??!!?!

i feel bad bc fh's parents are hosting the dinner. i am looking at danford's, three village inn, and port jeff country club for the dinner. they are about $45 per person including beer and wine plus tax and gratuity. isn't that high?? these are less expensive than other places i've looked at too!!

What about LaParma in Huntington???? Its delish italian food and its family style. They do packages for like $23-$30 a person and that includes wine and dessert!!!!

Corinne - good thinking about the privacy! Piccola Bussola which is right next store, italian, family style has the same prices as LaParma and the food is super good there too. They have a room off to the side you could use!

In Commack you could go to the Bonwit Inn - they have private rooms upstairs.

Smithtown - I looooooove LaFamiglia but its too noisy and busy for a RD.

Hmmmmmmmm - I'll post tomorrow when my brain is functioning better!

wish my FFIL would host ours. But 'they don't do that in Ireland' so if I want one, I have to pay for my own. If I had a dime for everytime I heard 'they don't do that in Ireland'.....grrr...some men are SO STUBBORN!

Thank god I am not paying for it.. FMIL is paying 68 bucks a head plus tax and tips in NYC, for 80 people...

I booked the Irish cofee pub in East Islip, the pace is fabulous, you have your own private room, iam paying $40 a head and that incudes open bar for 4 hours, i think it is $28 pp with no liquor.

Have you checked out Printers Devil? THey have their own private-atrium room that's nice, but I have no idea how much money it is.
