Why are there major price differences for DJs?
I have been looking for DJs and get so many variations in prices. For the same thing (DJ or MC or both) even w/ vendors w/ good reputations,I am getting so many different quotes. Of course I would like to have the least expensive, but are some a rip off?

Why are there major price differences for DJs?
Nina, Don't always go for the cheapest. We booked In the Mix DJs (Danny). We had seen him at 2 previous weddings. He's great. We would have booked him at any cost, but because he recognized us, he gave us a great deal! Give him a call. Lisa

Why are there major price differences for DJs?
I have looked at different DJ's and I ended up with Spin around sound, not because of price but for many reasons. When i spoke to Tom, i felt he understood me. My wedding will be different because of the fact that both of our fathers are gone. He was offering excellent ideas so that our mothers wont walk in alone or with each otehr..( they dont like each other). But without me even meeting him, he was helpful and made me comfortable. but he wasnt the cheapest of all the ones i look at. I dont know if this helps, lol

Look at experience with weddings? as well as years in the business. I saw a lot of younger less experienced DJ's charge less. Also those that have less experience with weddings (doesn't mean they are a bad dj just may only be doing graduations and b-day parties) are less expensive. type of equipment (dj and lighting equip.) that is used? do they have backups? compare what you get.

Having 2ND thoughts.......
Now I'm having 2nd thoughts. I chose Joey from Jam Entertaintment and he is only $650 for ceremony, cocktail hr and reception. A couple of ladies on this site recommended him, and I called Sans Souci and Three Village Inn to get references and they both said he is excellent (I told them that my wedding is not at there site, so hopefully they were honest and not trying to sell their house DJ). But, I'm just wondering why he is so inexpensive, I feel like there's a catch.

You checked references...that's a good and important thing. There had to be some other reason besides price that led you to choose him... I am sure he will be fine.

Why are there major price differences for DJs?
We went to meet with DJs Unlimited. They are not the most expensive, but definitely not the least either. We were close to signing, but ran into someone we've known, and he said we were getting 'ripped off' and that he had a DJ company for years and he would do it for half the price. The deciding factor for us (although it would have been nice to save about $600) was back-up equipment, choice of MC, and the biggest - INSURANCE. What if they don't show because they're not organized? (DJs Unlimited, in their professional office had a HUGE wipe-off board with a million bookings on them in a spread sheet format)What if the ONLY MC or DJ they have gets sick witht the flu? (and you get an old friend willing to help them out who has hardly any experience). What if their equipment breaks down and you only have one speaker going in a hall that fits over 200 people? This is what helped make our decision and part with the extra money. At least we know we'll have good music at our wedding reception, if nothing else :)...good luck!!

Don't have second thoughts. Once you have made up your mind on any aspect of your wedding you should be happy with you choice and don't think twice. You will drive yourself crazy second guessing yourself.

We booked our DJ (Music by Michael) because of all that we interviewed we were most confident in him. He wasn't the least or the most expensive. If you felt a good connection with your choice, don't worry about it. There is something to be said for 'gut instinct!'

I Booked In The Mix D.J. Service, and everyone always says great things about them, and I was at a party this weekend and they were so excellent, I've never seen soo many people dancing. I would book them at any cost but their prices, are pretty reasonable. They have a website its www.inthemixdj.com.Welcome New Vendors
