we love it! DF has allergies and they are a million times better since we got the Dyson. We put it on our registry and DF's childhood best friend got it for us. He asked to try it and then he bought one for himself too. My DF no longer lets me vacuum - it is his toy. But in reality it makes him breath so much easier.
We got the Dyson Animal (same as Diamondgirlie's) from FH's step-dad. We have two cats that shed like crazy, and my old vacuum just wasn't doing the job. I love, love love, the Dyson. It ***** up stuff I didn't even know was there!

woo-hoo! I'm putting it on my registry too!! By the way--I had the hoover windtunnel upright vacuum on my registry, and they e-mailed me that it has been discontinued.
it's loud, but no more so than any other vacuum.

i have a vac now that is so loud i hate to vacuum. i feel like the whole neighborhood can hear me!
bc my husband was obsessed with it!!! hahahaha....
When its on the rug, its super loud..like a animal in pain. But on hardfloors its just a regular vaccuum sound.
