Why did you decide to marry your FH / DH?

Here's another fun thread, as our year winds down!

Out of all the men out there in the world ..... what are the reasons you chose to marry YOUR FH / DH?

What makes him THE ONE for YOU?

Well, not only is he the sweetest, sexiest, funniest man in the world (no offense, ladies :) but we both feel that it is meant to be that we're together. We dated eighteen years ago and now we are back together and looking forward to starting our life. We learned a very valuable lesson in our fourteen years apart-we know now not to ever take each other for granted and to always be honest with each other and not hold anything inside.

I am marrying FH for the tax benefits!! Just kidding!

I decided to marry my FH because he is my best friend, the guy who I want to share everything with. He makes me laugh (we have similar senses of humor) and he knows how to cheer me up when I am sad (like yesterday when the Mets blew the playoffs). He is thoughtful and I can't picture sharing my life with anyone else-we are a family with our two little cats!

i have a very specific view of how i think a relationship should be. in past relationships, i may have been labeled as 'clingy' because i always felt that i wanted to spend as much time as possible with my SO, and i would make time for them so that i could do so. don't get me wrong, i always spent time with my friends solo - but my SO came first. that's just how i am. not all of my SOs felt the same way.

but with FH... we are EXACTLY the same when it comes to that stuff. we always want to spend our free time together, and we rarely makes plans to spend time apart unless we know that the other has plans already, or will be at work, or whatever...

for some reason, spending a lot of time together is very important to me, and to FH as well. when we had only been dating 3 weeks and i realized that we had seen each other every day of those three weeks... and we both WANTED to... then i knew that this was the kind of relationship i wanted, and the kind of guy i wanted to be with.

sorry this turned out so long - i don't think i've ever put that into words!

when we decided to marry each other it just happened (we were both not looking for a relationship) ~ we were friends first ~ he is my best friend ~ there is not a moment I dont think of him ~ we balance each other ~ I am more serious and he is more goofy/funny!! I cant picture my self with anyone else!! in the past when i went on dates i would look at my cell phone for the time and could not wait for the date to end when my hubby and i would 'agree' to meet for dinner (he never actually took me on a date, long story...) I never wanted those nights to end...

I could go on....

Well since i am 'older' and had dated a variety of people...i knew what i wanted in a husband...and the kind of jerk i did NOT want....and i had a list of things in mind that i wanted in that person...at the point i met DH i had narrowed the long list down to just one thing...non-smoker! hahaha

After our second date I knew i was going to marry him (got engaged 4 1/2 yrs later)...i couldn't explain it...or even rationalize it...but the best part was...he was all those things on my 'list' that i had given up on...and he has helped me grow as a person in so many positive ways and supported me in following my dreams and pursuing what i really love in life. And we laugh...a lot!!!

There are so many reasons why I decided to marry FH. I think the main reason is that I couldn't imagine my life without him and I forgot what my life was like without him. He is the most caring, honest, loving, thoughtful man, not to mention that he is sexy and has the best smile.
