Why do hair trial cost so much? Now with pics!

I just called the salon to set up an appointment for a hair trial...$75.00 and UP I was told for a TRIAL!!! OMG!!! This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to be a guy, they have it sooooo easy!

please.... i went with FH to get a haircut the other day... i was disgusted! it's just way too easy to be a man!

I know! I booked 2 trials with two different people, one is $45, one is $60...so I am doing the $45 first and hopefully I will love her so I can cancel #2...

It's not like they are cutting or coloring my hair!!!
I'm paying for time and hairspray, that's about it?

No they don't apply it...I'm having my trial in the salon but my wedding day she is going to where I'm having my make-up done (a house).

Do you tip on a trial???

Good question, I think if it is a salon, yes, if it is the owner, no. I am using one of the bridal assistants who come to your home. It's $300 for your wedding day, she comes to your house in the morning and stays until you have your first dance.
I need if because I am taking off my veil after the ceremony and I don't want to mess up my hair.

Hair trials can be pretty $$$. Before I found the girl that was doing my hair, I spent over $200 on hair trials alone.

Ask before you go. I had an half up/half down style & she charged me $45 for hardly nothing

It's such a racket!! I understand that they have to charge for time, but I think you should get some sort of credit if you use them for your wedding day. I went to one trial at a salon and the woman even said it would be done a little differently the day of. Well, I'm paying for a trial to see what it WILL look like the day of

mine as $40 hair and makeup included, and it went towards my final balance! I think that salons do charge some times way to much, I wanted to used the one I always go to, but they would charge me the same $$ for trial and for the wedding day, and I had to go to them

I think it is a HUGE racket!!! I want to call my salon & ask hom much a 1/2 up-do is. Not telling them it's a trial!! I have a feeling the price might be less. If it is I'm not telling them it's for my wedding. I'm sure I can manage putting on my own headpiece & veil!!!

Mine is $40 makeup trial and $40 day of. My hair is $50 trial and $65 day of. I hate this!!

I forgot how much my hair/makeup trial was. If I booked (which I did), the $ was applied to the day-of services.

I had my trial on the day that I was going to a company party, so I didn't feel like it was a huge waste of money.
