Why do head hunters lie

I got a call early this week to come in for an interview today with a publishing company located in the empire state building. I was so excited.

So I go to the interview, have my suit on, all set for an interview....Turns out it was a staffing firm. The person recruits for the publishing company, but get this here is the kicker, wouldnt you know it I get there and the publishing company has narrowed their search to 2 people and are no longer taking applicants, but she'll keep my resume on file and if she sees anything she'll call me.

To really add to it, she got a phone call while I was their and told the person on the phone the same exact thing she had just told me.

I then had to go over to W 57th street and see another head hunter who was a complete Jack@$$ when I got their but then seemed ok, then went back up to Jack@$$.

I dont like head hunters very much

Im sorry you went through that!! It really ****s having to deal with them. Sometimes I wish they would just be upfront about the jobs....yes we have them...no we dont kind of thing!!

I agree, I wish they would be upfront. Would save me a lot of upset feelings and aggrivation

Well, I found this if it's any help. Hopefully you will have a job before October 21st! I went to the job fair here in Washington, D.C. and it was pretty good. I also bought their book.

this is why I NEVER do any business with headhunters. They are so SNEAKY! I got a message the other day from one I have never spoken to in my life and she was like 'Jennifer I have been desperately trying to reach you! I have 2 fabulous HR Positions!' Which I know is BS bc they hardly do have anything real.

What kind of job are you looking for?

chippa...are you looking into publishing?

when I worked in publishing I had a pretty good head hunter...i wish I could remember his name...

I'll try to see if I can...its been a long time
