Why do I bother calling my mother back???

B/C my nuts thats why!!!!!!
I returned her call the other day to get an hour lecture about how ' my friend since diapers' came over to do her hair and is very offended that I havent asked her to be in my bridal party and I asked a friend I havent know nearly as long as well....
LITERALLY she lectured me!!!!!! I told her that in the past she has been unreliable and I cant have that with my wedding....
well my mom says that she is older now and has changed..... she gave me SUCH a guilt trip!!! Now I feel horrbile and dont know what to do!!! She says everyime I see this girl she is secretly hoping I will decide to ask her....
Now I wont even be able to look at her without feeling quilty!!!!!

How often and how close do you feel to this person. Its your wedding and you should be able to put in who you want into your bridal party.

Do not be guilted into putting this woman in your bridal party. It is your day adn you've got to remain strong. There will be plenty of other things you might have to compromise on.

Stay strong

Thanks girls!!! Its so funny b/c you think if you pay for the wedding on your own and dont ask anyone for a penny they will leave you alone... but nope..
I even went so far as to tell her that we just cant afford to add another girl... shes like why how much can it possibly cost you to add her on??? I said $75 just for the stupid bok she will be carrying and another $85 for the gift... and she goes W T F are you buying them????
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
then she offered me money to help... im like oh great help pay to cover this girl who you never see and used to hate but dont offer me $$ just b/c im getting married and could use a little help.
On top of that I know she would never give me the $$$$ she originally told me she would help with the DJ and or photographer when I got engaged.. that never happened and now I hear she is complaining about the cost of the shower!!
Thanks for letting me vent

Don't feel guilty!

I have had soooo many people try and make me feel guilty for things I decided for MY wedding. It is not fair to make the bride feel this way if you ask me. Vent away girl!!!!

I am sorry

I feel bad for you... my mom is just annoying, and we're paying for everything! lol.

How about you ask that friend to do something during the wedding... that way she's still 'special' & involved with your wedding. Not close to being a BM, but like have her read @ the ceremony, or something like that?

deeeep breaths

I'm sorry!! But please STAND your GROUND and do not be guilted into asking this girl to be a BM ..

if every time my mother guilted me into something I did it, i'd have 100 more people at my wedding than I wanted

thats whay I original wanted... now my mother made me feel as if the girl will be very insulted if she is not asked..... honestly maybe she has changed who knows .. but at the point when I choose my bms she wasnt really around thats what made it an easy choice for me..... now that we are closer again im confused

Just tell your mom it's too late, but that you'll honor the friendship by asking her to do a reading.
Good Luck!
