As for the vendors, I have a hard time negotiating in person so what I have done is called after the initial meeting and negotiate over the phone. I'm better on the phone
You have time so shop around! Make sure to do your research.

i know the feeling - that is why a lot of the stuff i am buying i am buying that i can use again - or at least try to use again - other than the dress...
like my ceremony unity candle set - it can be used a table decor - so although i spent a lot on the pewter candle holders - its worth it - same thing for my loving cup - its a decoration for my house afterwards - and to be passed on to my daughter if i have one...that is my way of justifying these expenses! hehehe

So far I have done ok with stuff. I have negotiated with all my vendors. I am luckily getting married within 4 months of my sister so we went to vendors together and booked and they gave us discounts.
other things that I love like the unity candles, monogrammed cake toppers I am going to make myself.
My advice is on the things you can DIY do to save money and if you really love something then go for it and if you think you won't use it again you can always sell it after the wedding.

I was going to suggest evesaddiction lolz...but if you need to give yourself a reason to buy that beautiful bracelet you can re-wear it to all weddings you go to after your own

I know it may be tedious but I do alot of researching for this wedding. You have to remember that the vendors are trying to get as much money out of you as possible. So, you have to think the same thing but the opposite. Try to get the best deal without having to break your pockets

If you have a hard time negotiating try the budget routine.
It usually helps. I try to say I am working on a pretty tight budget and thats really pushing it. They usually will say we can work with you and give you a better price.
Thats my negotiating tip!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate being blatant abotu asking things for cheaper.
Also, remember if you are willing to negotiate you have to be willing to walkaway.

i SWORE up and down that we were going to spend no more than 30K on our wedding and i would say that i couldnt believe how much money people spend on weddings and its a waste of money and blah blah blah - i dont know what happened but our wedding is going to cost double that - im hoping it stops at 60K (and thats not including my ering or the invisalign braces im getting so my teeth are straight for the wedding!) i dont know HOW it happened but somehow my not spending a penny over 30K went out the window

if yout hink about it if you buy now you are saving b/c when we get married the prices goes up along with the taxes so you are saving if you think about it.

I am the same way. It's ridiculous. At this point, I am looking for shoes. All the shoes I like are 200 dollars!
