In most cases you don't need one. I thought about having one, but a) the aisle in the church is 80 ft long and a runner that big is epensive, and b) I saw a bunch of pictures where after the guests and wedding party walks to their seats it got all wrinkled and didnt look good for the bride entrance/exit pics.

For decoration...like anything else; you don't need it, it just looks pretty. You may not be able to have one-I would check with the place you are having your ceremony.

uhn, uhn not me...I plan on having them roll it out JUST for my grand entrance since mine is personalized. My BP will be going bare!! Don't care if it looks tacky but I don't want anyone all over our names!!!

The limo guys usually roll it out right before you come down the isle.

Re: Why do I need a aisle runner?
I'm not having one. My aisle is 130 feet long.
Plus, it's always the point where something goes wrong. Nothing major, but every wedding I've been to it gets stuck, it rips as its being rolled out, the ushers roll it unevenly, etc. I'm glad my aisle is real long. This way, I don't have to explain why I don't want it.

Don't need- it's optional. I don't even know what I'm doing for that!!

Re: Why do I need a aisle runner?
i'm having one because my ceremony is outdoors in the middle of a yard or field type area and i think it will help define the space and make it look more ceremonial.

Re: Why do I need a aisle runner?
I am using the one the limo company supplies...my church is actually trying to do away with people using them I don't want to get a personalized one and then they decide that we aren't allowed to use it
