So I am at work and one of the contractors (not even a coworker) asks if he was invited to the wedding out of nowhere! So I thought he was kidding around so I said OK! joking around, and he said ok, I like to dance!
Now what do I do! I don't have a problem inviting him but that means I have to invite a whole lot more people so they are not left out.

UGH, I am in the same situation, I wasn't planning on inviting any of my contractors, but if they asked, I would say, we are trying to keep it somewhat small and we had to draw the line somewhere...something like that.

That is so annoying. I hate when people do that. I guess it is people who have never payed for a wedding themselves or even know the costs these days for a wedding and know the problems it causes when random people ask. UGH!

stop asking me...if you are invited, i will send you an invitation!!!!!
luckilly this didn't happen to us...actually the opposite...so many people were like 'oh, wow, we're invited?? thanks'

OMG! If I had a penny for how many people asked me if they were invited I would be able to afford a GRAND EVENT at Oheka for 1000 PEOPLE!!! Some people just have no couth!

That puts you in an awkward situation, it hasn't happened to me yet but, it happened to a girl I work with before her wedding a few years ago. It was mainly one person, and after being caught off guard the first time and laughing it off (they weren't even close) she had to explain to him that their guest list was very large and they weren't inviting anyone from work (she invited a few of us though and we weren't allowed to mention her wedding at all).

Someone at work (who I talk to once in a while) asked me about the ceremony and where it was and what to wear....
I was so in shock. I regrouped myself and told her that it was really a small intimate ceremony at a private RH not a church. I was hoping she would get the hint.

My mother's DOCTOR asked if he could come! Luckily, she likes him, so she was kind of humored by the whole thing, and she asked me if it was okay if they came (my parents are paying for the reception, so of course, but I know know my mother's doctor!). He's like, 'I've never been to the Crescent! I love weddings! I'm so excited!!'. Now my mother's concern is where to seat him!
At least he's a doctor!

We always just laughed it off and was like sure you can come, but only if you sit outside because the hall doesn't fit everyone my parents are inviting.
Usually people got the hint after that.
We did have one couple call to say that there invitation must have gotten lost in the mail and were coming. We didn't invite them, but at that point it was too embarrasing to say anything.

Oy! My dad was put in that situation. He was at the denist, who asked the popular questions: when's the wedding? where? This lady knows me since I'm about 10. So my father answers her and she goes 'oh, good. I like to crash weddings.'

I've been very forthcoming. There is one guy from pool (not on my team, but that I know) who keeps talking about the wedding, and every time he brings it up my response is 'Doug, what makes you think I'm inviting you?' I am inviting him but only b/c FH wants him there, and now I am having so much fun torturing the living daylights out of him to the point that I'm actually sending his invite out a week after everyone else's. Yes, I am truly evil!!
