So I had my shower this weekend and I have been opening things and starting to use them and my dad jokingly goes, are you keeping all the boxes and I am like not all, but some and hes like well you know if you and FH have a really big fight and call off the wedding you have to give everything back..ha ha ha...like he's trying to be funny but I dont view that as funny subject matter...ugh...

i know some people make jokes but they dont realize how it will affect people ....i know its hard but try to ignore it ...and tell him that it bothered you so he knows not to joke about certain things

Some people have a really weird sense of humor. I would have gotten mad at that too but I'm sure he was trying to get you upset.

Thanks! My dad just likes giving me grief a lot about random things, after i posted i think he comment was more a sly knock on the fact that FH and I live together. Most of his comment had revolved around the 'back in the day...shower gifts were stored somewhere until after you were married and lived together...' I know its just my dad being my dad but grrr he can annoy me sometime.
