Change the amount of guest you wrote on the RSVP cards? My FH and I sent out our invites and are now receiving RSVPs. So far, 5 people erase or re-write a different amount of people they will like to bring. Some 2 or 3... ***!!!!!!
Are They SERIOUS!!! Luckily, I had it written on the back or on my excel sheet... People just don't get it... I had to call and CLARIFY!!!

I forsee having this issue, eigther with people bringing random dates or kids. Now girls, when I call them especially 'the singles' what exactly should I say? How do I bring the news politely? I really dont have the space to accomodate extra people.

i'm glad you called and told them that! i hate when people do this. they really don't take into consideration that someone has to pay for these people to come!

FH's family will totally try to do this. I can so see them showing up with extra people.
They did this to me for the engagement party.. Esp since FMIL didn't put an accurate number of people each invite included.. It was formal so I was so annoyed when they called to say okay all 6 of us will be there, when there were only 4 in the family and we did not know the 2 children were in a relationship. Another friend of hers was invited with just her husband, RSVP'd yes, then a week before the party I found out she was bringing her 2 daughters and a son-in-law.
I also got the swap... An uncle couldn't come so their son brought a guest instead, but they were supposed to sit at a different table! Needless to say they caused a big scene cause there were not enough seats at the son's table.. Hmmm wonder why!!
Lol, people assume they can do whatever they want I'm already gearing up for a ton of this nonsense to take place at the wedding.. I might hire a DOC just to deal with when it all goes down lol
