For me there is no other place like it. I love it and even though a lot of my family has moved away I don't know if I could.

Actually I am so sick of Long Island. The Traffic the COLD I would love to move to like VEGAS or the carolinas or Virginia.

Honestly - I am sick of New York and feel that I am never going to be able to afford a house here!! If FH would - I'd go to South Florida tomorrow - where most of my family has gone - the weather, the house prices, the whole standard of living.

Where else in the world could you drive for 20 minutes and get to the worlds best beaches? We have the world's GREATEST pizza, bagels and chinese food! New Yorkers are great people despite our reputation! There are lots of nice places to visit but I could never live anywhere but here

NJ for us in the future (when we have kids). Cheaper living, but still within the NYC metro area!!! Good highway access, and good schools.

If it was up to me I wouldn't live in NY, however DH has 8 years to go til retirement and his pension, so here we will stay til at least that time.

because my job is here. And I get full medical benefits. And my father is on LI.
but we are moving in the next few years. either PA, upstate, NC or SC or maybe back to where FH is from.

Nothing like NY - I have travelled to many different cities and state and never found one that I could think I could live in (Boston - has been the closest). I couldn't even live in NJ. Even moving to LI has been a huge change in my life. I like being a New Yawker!

I hate living in NYC, I have lived here my entire life and it drives me nuts. But both of my parents are here, and FH’s family too, and plus I’ve heard that once you leave it is really hard to come back (money-wise).
