For me there is no other place like it. I love it and even though a lot of my family has moved away I don't know if I could.

Where else in the world could you drive for 20 minutes and get to the worlds best beaches? We have the world's GREATEST pizza, bagels and chinese food! New Yorkers are great people despite our reputation! There are lots of nice places to visit but I could never live anywhere but here
Couldn't have said it better!!

Re: Why do you choose to live in NY? or NJ?
Well I live in NJ now and I don't choose to live here but I moved in to DH's place and we can't afford to move right now. If I had the choice I would still be in NY. And the reasons are similar to ones above- NY is a place that never sleeps. You can drive (in my case) less than 30 minutes and be in a city that never sleeps, can get take-out at 2am and you never have to operate your own vehicle, yet can get around an entire city.
I've traveled all around the US and there really is no state like NY.

I do not live in NY, but grew up on LI and of course, got married there I miss NY a lot. I currently live in Boston, but there is nothing like NY. Broadway, sandy beaches (the ones up here are very rocky), pizza, bagels, the museums, the subway that runs all night. I could go on and on. I would move back in a heartbeat if I could. But my DH, job and home are in MA, so I do not see that happening any time soon. Till then, I stay connected through my family and this site
