Why do you/did you want to get married?

The Deacon asked us this when we were going through PreCana. I thought it was an interesting question. What would've been your answer??

because I absolutely love him and when i look into the future...i just can not imagine any of my plans for my life without him by my side. Ive always had my dreams and FH is helping them all come true.

I found the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. The man I want to have a home with, the man I want to be the father of my children. I have someone who I can spend endless hours with and I am not sick of him, nor do I feel bored. I look foward to our future. Now not only have I found a man I CAN live with, I have also found a man that I CANNOT live without. I can't imagine my future without him. I can't see anyone else coaching our little boys or trying to do pigtails on our little girl and then giving up for a crooked pony tail.

I am truly in love with him and want to show that through our marriage and dedicating our lives together!!!

I want to get married because I love my DH so much. I love how family is so important to him becuase it is for me as well. I love how he acts and fits in with my family. I love how he makes me smile, and laugh and we have a great time no matter what we are doing. I can totally picture us growing old together. I know it's sappy but it is true. I love him!!!!!!

i like this question!

i truly believe that in the past nine years he has made me a better person . . . when i picture my future he is always standing by my side. . . there are so many things that i would not have been able to get through with anyone else. . . we have changed in all the years we have been together, but essentially we have grown up together side by side.

I cannot wait to start my life with him and have our children together. . . i know i can depend on him through the sad times and i look forward to many many more wonderful memories with him

Because there is nothing in this world that I am more sure about. I truly believe it was fate that brought us together and dedication and love (among many other things) that keeps our love growing. This man is my soul mate.

I want to get married because I want to spend my life with my FH and have family with him...and grow old together. He makes me feel safe and appreciated!

The answer is.... we didn't!

We really didn't. We got pressured into it by my Mom, who offered to give us money for the wedding.

Don't get me wrong, we had a great time. And was nice to celebrate our relationship with our families, and to call him my husband instead of my boyfriend.

But we're not having kids, we're not religious, and don't need a piece of paper or to spend tens of thousands of dollars to know that we want to spend the rest of our lives together.

Our commitment to each other was sealed years ago when we met, and every day since. We just didn't see the point.

Not very romantic or sappy, I know.

Just being honest.

I want to grow old with FH and I want to be his family. He has showed me what it is to love and be loved and I want to feel that for the rest of my life, and I know that the only way to do that is to be with him. He is everything to me and my future is him.

He is my life. He is my love. He is my partner in life. He is the first person I think of when I wake up and the last person I think of at night. I cannot imagine my future with out him. I want to stand before our friends and family and pledge my life and love to him.

He's the first one I want to talk to in the morning and the last at night. There is nothing good or bad that happens in my life that he isn't the first person I think to call or tell. He is my best friend, my support, the one who makes me laugh even when I am pi$$ed and what I feel for him can't even be justified in words. I can't imagine him not being in my life.

i agree with this.

if this isn't there, the rest doesn't matter. BUT... if you feel this way, isn't it pretty cool to celebrate this commitment!?

that's kind of how i feel... i'm already 'married' to this man. our ceremony/reception will be the icing on the cake a way to celebrate what we've already decided and are doing every single day.

I want to get married to this man b/c I cannot ever imagine my life without him. We are good for each other, we have known each other since we were 18 and now we are 32. We dated when we were 18 and broke up, then dated other people for approx. 6 years and in the end came back to each other. We also balance each other out for the better and we get along great. We love each other very much and understand each other in a way I cannot explain. We do not feel insecure if we do not tell each other we love them b/c we know how each other feel without words having to be said. And we trust each other to the fullest and never feel that insecurity for anything. It's a wonderful feeling when you feel this way. I have been in other relationships and have NEVER felt the way I do with this man.
