Why does his mother call him every time someone RSVPs to the RD?

Is this her sneaky way to try to get involved in his life/the wedding? The only responsibility she had this entire wedding was to send out the rehearsal invites and to have the RSVP's sent to her. Well, wouldn't you know - she calls us EVERY FREAKING TIME one person sends her an RSVP, and keeps reminding us/him on who else needs to respond! The RD is NOT the wedding! It's not that big of a deal! I cannot stand her right now!!!!

By the lack of response are people silently telling me that I need to get a grip? Ok, ok I get the hint.........

I wouldn't let it bother you. Since it's her only responsibility, she's probably just excited about her part in the planning. I'd let her enjoy this part and try not to let it get to you.

my parents call me every day with the list of who sent in their RSVP. I honestly think that she is excited about it even if that is not what you want (or want to hear).

lol no my lack of response was not that you need to get a grip!!! LOL i was thinking THANKGOD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO CANT STAND FMIL!!!!!!!!!!! lol and her constant need to somehow control FH!!!!! LOL!!!! Good luck!!! (i know EXACTLY how you feel!!!)

Please tell me do your FMILS take little 'discreet digs at you!!!!!!) and Fh is like no she wasnt OMG , yes she is and she is a B****!!!!!! I swear to god its like dealing with a jealous ex girlfriend!!!!!!! CUT THE CORD!!!!!

i totally agree. i simply cannot stand my FH's relationship with his mother - she is cold, sarcastic, biting, miserable, unattractive person inside and out - FH likes to defend her though, which infuriates me! I feel like saying to him - can't you see what a miserable person she is??? She has treated me fine so far, i just would like to distance myself from her...

Me too.....its such a pain...I get soooo jealous of those with normal FMIL's...At first I worried it was something wrong with me, now i KNOW its something wrong with them....oh well
