i told the doctor yesterday - I am worried that Sophie doesn't lay on her tummy ever, worried that she isnt' building the strength she needs, etc. (this is after I tell him she hates being naked, and she's basically in his arms stark nude in glee). So of course he's like - ok let's take a look at that.

Turns her on her belly and the damn baby pushes the whole head up using her forearms like a champ! AND SMILES! I haven't seen this miserable little colicky peanut smile more than once or twice max!!!

He goes - well...seems like there's no problem there. In fact she has incredible head control for a baby her age and size. Looks like she's developing the strength she needs somehow....

I had a long talk with her in the car. Can't be doing this to mommy. Mommy needs to look like a pro - not like a commonplace LIAR!!!!

My baby makes me look like a liar and its not even born yet. Everytime the baby starts kicking like crazy and I tell someone to put their hand on my belly to feel it, it stops.

I would try to recreate whatever it was that made her smile, but at home. Maybe it was that she was on a hard examination table - so maybe put her on the floor as opposed to the bed or soft surface. Maybe she likes to do it when she's not dressed, so she has a better grip on the floor, and feels more secure. Try to think about what the doctor did that you don't normally do. And, if you can't recreate it, DON'T WORRY. At least you KNOW SHE CAN do it if she wants to.

JA did the same to me. Dr asked how many words he knew and I said 'oh gosh, SO MANY, well over 20-30.' and he goes 'REALLY?? '
and of course JA didnt utter A WORD in the office. and as I was going 'John Anthony, who's that?' (Dr gave him Elmo stickers), he wouldnt answer, and wouldnt answer any questions, in ITalian or English

So my Dr goes 'Leading the witness, mommy?'

One girl at the gym (about 4) goes 'Today my mommy was nice to my daddy, because USUALLY she nags him alot, and daddy always tells her to leave him alone, because daddy is really nice and he doesnt do ANYTHING TO her and she gets mad all the time, and she yells at him all the time'....
