Seriously! My church recently got a new priest and he's the nastiest person ever!! I heard his attitude towards the people coming out of the church the other day.
he was nasty to FH a few times. And the neighbors... and lots and lots of parish memebers hate him! My grandmother lives across the street from the church and her whole block has heard about his ways. Not only that but the surrounding churches also heard abotu how bad he is.
FH father is a deacon... he heard about it in his church which is literally like 2 neighborhood's away!!
Anyway, I asked about a year ago if we could have petal cones and they said yes. FH called to ask again today and the new priest now says no. I'm contemplating doing it anyway.
What do you think? Should I just do it anyway?? They did say yes to me a while ago. I jusst don't have a name of the person who said yes.

At my church we were technically only allowed to throw bird seed. I decided to use streamer throws. I didn't ask permission ahead of time, though, so they couldn't tell me no! We cleaned everything up afterwards, so they couldn't have been too upset.
Do you think the priest would stop you from handing the petal cones out to everyone? If so, I'd probably choose something else to avoid a confrontation. Worst case, can you designate someone to clean up some of the petals if the priest freaks out?

i did it!! lol we werent allowed to throw rose petals and we did it anyways! of course we hid them till the last possible second, and then what were they going to do then..ban us from the church! im going to hell!! haha
is this priest the one marrying you??? i hope not! lol sorry...but i would just speak priest who is marrying you and ask him...
we were not allowed to have a runner either, my brother who got married in the same church the year before with the same rules, were able to have a runner because the priest marrying them allowed it....
oh yeah we did have someone clean them up so we wouldnt get yelled at too bad!

The priest won't even be there. I'm having FH father and a priest from another parish marry us.
I think I should do it anyway and have someone designated to clean up. But I don't know who to have clean!! haha!!
Did you bring a broom with you or something?

We didn't need a broom for the streamer throws because everything stayed attached to the capsules they came in, but we brought garbage bags. My DOC, friends, parents and limo drivers helped collect all the trash before we left the church.

Our church was so strict in what you can do. When we first booked we received this brochure of basically everything you cant do. Throwing flowers in and out of the church were one of them, amongst other things.
I decided that I was still going to have rose petals outside the church. The church does have people clean up regardless of what they say, so I really wouldnt worry about that and I would still throw the petals. In my mind I said what is the worst that can happen.
We threw them and guess what NOTHING happened!

we origionally asked our limo company...because that is who my brother got to clean up the rose petal for his wedding, buttt our limo company wouldnt do it, sooo we asked the ushers at the church...they were cool with it

my church is very strict - no runner, rose petals, flower girl dropping petals, rice....but birdseed is allowed. HOWEVER - the priest who we met with thought it wasn't, and I had to show him in the book where it said it was. The reason I relay this story is that no one knows what's going on anyway and they won't stop you :)

i'd say do it. my cousin wasn't allowed to do it at her's and we did it anyway! it was great!!!!!
