Why is that once you buy a house every Tom, **** and Harry feel that they can call!

We are on the do not call list, but yet all these service, tree removal, lawn care, oil company, termites, chimney, etc feel that they have the right to call.

Well 2 days ago I am on the phone with a very dear friend that I have not talk to in a month. This idiot from Long Island Tree something (and I only know this from caller ID, not because I could understand him) calls, I answer. I tell him, call during the day and speak to my husband he handles all contracts for the house. I tell him call be noon. COULD I BE ANY CLEARER

The same SOB just called NOW 8:20pm! He says helllllllllllooooooooooooo Mrs. M this is so and so from LIT.... I spoke to you, I cut him off there because I remember the freaking accent that I couldn't understand the last time, and I say I told you to call before noon and speak to my husband and you have the NERVE to call here at 8:20pm take us off the list you just lost any chance with us and DO NOT CALL HERE AGAIN!

I didn't mind all the unsolicitated mail when we moved in, especially from the moving companies that I thought was funny but this is getting ridiculous!!!!

I hear you!! I love the phone calls I get from mortgage companies asking me if I want to refinance my house, Um..How did I get on your list..I don't own a house!!!

We get about 20 calls a day from places saying..'Hello, is Mrs. Mays there??' Who the Hell is Mrs. Mays??? And when I say wrong number, they just call back the next day!! We have had this phone line for 4 years, you'd think they'd get the hint by now!!

I always says 'she's not here, Im the babysitter' and I get 'ok I'll call back tomorrow'. After a few times they get the hint.

DH always does the 'hello?..........hello?............heeeellllloooooooo?? Damn this phone, can't hear a thing.' and hangs up. Meanwhile the other person is practically screaming on the other end.

Or you can purchase a whistle and keep it by the phone and blow into it when they call

BTW: I have noticed the increase in unsolicitated phone calls. I think I remember reading or hearing that you have to re-subscribe to the DNC list after a year or 18 months after you first do it.

Same thing here....

ask them if you could take down their # and call them back while they are eating dinner etc....so rude!
