What about it made you pick your RH? What are some negative aspects you have to compromise on?
I picked mine because it is so different and nonconventional. Plus i dont think anyone who invited has gone there before so everyone will remember it was our wedding! I hate the price and the person in charge of coordinating. oh well.

I love mine because its out of the way, alot of people havnt heard about it, and i just felt at home when i went to visit with the BM. We were able to have a tasting before we gave our deposit and the food was excellent, I dont have to guarantee alot of people for a saturday night, only 125, wich is perfect!!!!
I am also able to customize my menu, and personalize it
Oh i almost forgot, THE VIEW, and the windows overlooking the water. It really is a gorgeous setting, almost Gatsby like!!!! Its all about location!!!

There are SOOO many reasons: 1-It'll be a brand-spankin' new venue by this September...can't ask for anything more than a newly-built place.
2-It's a One-Wedding hall...don't want to wait in line for pics or see another bride on my day.
3-We REFUSED to do it at a 'mass produced/cookie cutter' place. Too many halls look and feel like another..we wanted something unique.
4-The rooms are HUGE, the coctail hour opens to an outdoor atrium, the decor is amazing.
5-The Bride, Groom and Bridal party get the ENTIRE second floor of the hall as our suite. We have a living room, fireplace area, dining room set up to eat as one big happy family, lounge, bathroom, personal bartender and waiters.
6-There is just too much more to add....we fell in love and went to other places that have old decor, basic crap and couldn't stop thinking about our place and it's newness, beauty and reputation.

where are you having yours? It is the New Hyde Park Inn...cause isnt that just finishing this Sept?

Yup, it's finishing this September....it's amazing already and we go there or pass there often and they have a crew of over 200 working on it...I'm in heaven each time they do something else lol.

Correction: It's now called, 'The Inn at New Hyde Park' lol Now that they are comprable to Garden City Hotel I guess they wanted to have a fancier name.

I loved how nice the inside was, loved the outside coctail hour and the food looks amazing displayed (i heard the food is great too though i havent had a tasting yet) the price was unbeatable oh and they serve frozen drinks..whoohoo ofr frozen strawberry margarittas and daquiris!

my RH is beautiful without any decorations, the rooms with skylights are amzing and its beautifully lit up at night (i am having an evening wedding)

We chose it because it is on the water, with lots of windows, one wedding at a time, and local to where we live and hang all the time so it just felt right!

First the location is convienient for most of our guests..I know that sounds corny, but that's not the real reason why we chose Russo's but it ranks up there.
We were really impressed with the room, the whole feel of the RH. Also we saw (since there was a party going on when we got there) how attentive and professional the staff were treating the guests. It was really first class all the way and then some. The reputation of Russo's can't be beat. The food is really excellent! Also it was within our budget as well so that was a big deal to us too. Overall I would have been really upset if I couldn't have it at Russo's. My second choice was Temple Judah in North Massapequa but the only thing I didn't like there was that there were no hotels around for OOT guests and it would be a bit of a pain for me to get out there.

I picked the location for our guests so that they wouldnt be traveling too far...
I love my RH room, the tiara room. The lighting is amazing in there and the chandeliers are gorgeous.
The minus is that there arent any grounds to take pictures , otherwise am i happy and excited!

I loved the floors- no rugs. i loved that it had no crooked framed art work in the ballroom- i loved the fish-it looks beautiful without decorations-i think it will look good with live plants for cp - like a indoor Mediterranean garden-y feel-I was looking for a place where i loved the inside more than the outside bcause i felt that is where the wedding mostly takes place and i did not want to depend on the weather for anything..

I chose floral terrace for my rh. I chose it because not many people I know have ever even heard of it, (We are from out east) The raised dance floor and dome and chandelier above the dance floor. I knew I would get married there before I was engaged.

FH's cousin got married at Russo's two years ago and we made the decision then and there that we would get married there!!! Russo's reputation and attention to all the details are among the mannnnny reasons we chose them!

We loved that it was on the water, it was completely beautiful, the food is great, they only had one wedding at a time... it was just everything I wanted.

Mostly the fact that I feel at home there... They always make me feel so welcome whenever I come to visit, and they know me and remember me! The beautiful gardens, I am so excited about how my pictures will look... that's one of the most important things to me. All the food... my family is big on food and we will have plenty at the CH and reception! My chocolate, white chocolate, and caramel fountains... my martini bar, lol... And FH and my parents fell in love with it too! Probably the only negative thing was the fact that the colors don't match my lavender theme, but i'm going to bring in some pink with the flowers and linens at the reception so that the lavender, pink and burgandy all come together!
