Why me??**UPDATED**

Well today I went and had it cauterized (burned out) I wasn't supposed to go back until October, but it was so close to the skin surface it broke and wouldn't stop bleeding!!
I had an injection to numb my lip (which blew up my lip so now I have a fat lip) and he used a small needle looking thingy to burn the blood vessels out. They went deeper than he though,so he had to go really deep with the tool. I have a black burn mark on my lip now. So much for playing kissy face with FH this week.

An angioma is a benign tumor that consists of small blood vessels. These tumors can be located anywhere on the body...

And I'm lucky enough to have one ON MY BOTTOM LIP!!!
I've had a 'lump' on my lip for about a month and a half that been getting noticably bigger. I thought okay maybe its a cold sore or a pimple, but its deep under the skin. My mother even blasted me with a few kissing dirty boy jokes. So today I went to the dermatologist...and he looked right at it and told me what it was. It 'may' stay the same size...it may get bigger. If it 'continues to bother me' (HELLO! I have a figgin hickey on my lip!) I can have it injected and carterized (sp?), which will leave a scar. So I have to decide...lip herpe looking bump, or scar. Why me??? Why couldnt it be on my leg or something?!?!

I am sorry you are going through this! I have a skin disorder and I know how it feels to have something that people can see on your skin ... it *****. IMO, I would think getting it removed and having a scar would be better than having a bump. You can always cover it up with lipstick, right? And they make good stuff for diminishing the look of a scar now. (mederma I think is the name of one, your derm will know...)

OMG I am sooo sorry you found that you have something more than just a cold sore on your lip.

I think having a scar is better than having a benign tumor on your lip. I dont know that would just scare me. But I hope all goes well and you are able to treat it and get rid of it.

Definitely go with the scar.... Just my opinion...

There are WONDERFUL treatements now to heal scars and make them less noticable... I personally used a TON of vitamin E oil and a scar i have from spinal surgery is invisible...and it was a pretty major scar...

Yeh go for the scar. YOu dont want that thing getting bigger and making things worse in the future. You can always use makeup to cover it up and you will be more safe.

it should get better quick!!! take good care of it and the scar shouldnt be bad!!! it will get better !!!

awwwwwwwwww im so sorry!! At least lips are made for lipstick? lol

OH! Remember to use LOTS of vitamin E to minimize scarring!!!

I agree with Jess - Vitamin E oil works wonders. You're beautiful no matter what's on your lip...

Thanks Ladies!!! I swear by vitamin E! I just want to get the feeling back in my bottom lip so I can attempt to eat without making a mess.

aww hope you are ok. At least this isnt a week before your wedding. You have plenty of time for this to heal and go away.
I would killed the Dr if he attempted to put a needle in my lip. You're brave lol
