Ok I know that I will enjoy this when I am like 40 but.... It is like a little annoying when people just assume that I am a 'kid'
My DH wanted to goto the diner. When we where standing at the counter this guy was talking about sex and he goes 'oh wait theres a kid I cant say it' Besides the fact that is 1 am and If I were a Kid and up right now that would be really bad! I am 24 and MARRIED!
I know some of you are like so what whats the big deal But I get ID at the movies and TWICE one at applebees and once at Friendlys I got the childrens menu. YOU HAVE TO BE 12 TO EAT OFF THE CHILDRENS MENU!

When I wear no makeup, I am called ma'am and treated like an old lady, but if I go out to a bar w/ DH and I get dressed up and do my makeup, I ALWAYS get proofed.
That also happens exactly like that to me. 4 yrs ago after my second kid I went out with my folks and brother for dinner and left the boys with hubby. The asked for my id over my brothers who looks like a baby. I had no makeup on and just had a baby. Hello !!! I was def. older then the server. Guys always say I look younger then what I am or take me for younger. Females, never do I dont get it. But, I appreciate when I can cause I know soon I wont be able to. Especially being in my mid thirties.

I hear ya. I'm 29 years old and sometimes I get proofed for R-rated movies. I think its funny cause I'm usually older than the person checking my i.d.

I've gotten IDs for lotto scratch offs too, and drinks - the worst though is my voice - I have a quiet, small voice most of the time so when I pick of the phone its always 'Is your mommy home little girl' or even when i speak to prospective employers, its embarassing I always need a disclaimer - I'm older than I sound!

OH I got ID for the scratch off's too. It was like 2.00 worth and the girl was gonna take them. Then her manager walked by went really nasty 'are you even 18 ' I was like im 23.

I get this allll the time too ... OK, i'm only 22, but my hairdresser, who I have been going to for years, asked me when I will be graduating high school. I was like, HUN, I will be TEACHING high school soon! She thought I was 16. grr

haha hairdressers! yep. When I was getting my hair doen for the senior prom, they were like 'oh how nice the 8th grade prom!' and when I was MOH at my sister's wedding last year they asked me if it was for the prom!

I'm about to be 27 and I still get IDed a lot, so I can relate. It's funny, I get IDed for cigarettes more oftten then I get Ided for beer. I went for a makeup trial in June at Nordstrom and everyone thought I was getting ready for the prom! I can kind of understand the people who worked there, but I had other teenagers asking what high school I went to.
