Ok I know that I will enjoy this when I am like 40 but.... It is like a little annoying when people just assume that I am a 'kid'
My DH wanted to goto the diner. When we where standing at the counter this guy was talking about sex and he goes 'oh wait theres a kid I cant say it' Besides the fact that is 1 am and If I were a Kid and up right now that would be really bad! I am 24 and MARRIED!
I know some of you are like so what whats the big deal But I get ID at the movies and TWICE one at applebees and once at Friendlys I got the childrens menu. YOU HAVE TO BE 12 TO EAT OFF THE CHILDRENS MENU!

I go through the SAME thing. I was shopping with my mom and some lady started making conversation with my mom in the beer aisle and said something like 'oh, you should get some beer' (I realy don't remeber the context) and then she said 'oh, but none for you, you can have soda!' I was like 'omg' and she thought my FH was my brother and that we were both in HS! it doens't help that FH also looks young, and I have a really small voice, so I even get 'is your mommy home?' when people call my house!

Isn't it a little irritating. If I had a penny for everytime a customer looked at my wedding band and went 'YOUR MARRIED' I'd be a millionaire.

yep...I get 'YOU'RE ENGAGED?'
or people will see me,a nd ahve defintiely seen my ring, and then I'll mention or someone around me will mention that i'm engaged and they'll be like 'You're engaged!!!!!!!!! I thought you were 12' what, did they think my ring was a TOY?

height has a lot to do with it. I'm 5'2. I had a friend in HS who was 4/10, and she actually had a very mature face, so her face was actually old for her age, but people actually thought she was 8 years old!

I get that all the time. The best story relating to this was when I was graduating from college. I was buying a dress for the graduation at Off 5th (Saks Outlet) at Tanger. I was purchasing the dress and I was talking to my mother about the graduation. Then a woman who works there chimes in and says, oh you are graduating from middle school? I have never been so insulted in my life.

I get it too, I am only 5'2' and look young. I went out to dinner the other nite with DH and got ID'd for a glass of wine. Oh well, I guess I'll appreciate it later!

i just turned 30 and i got proofed for beer this weekend..i know i look young and although at times it frustrates me because i get treated as if i'm a kid most of the time, i try to remind myself that when i'm 50 i'll look GOOOOD!!!

I still get ID'd too and I'll be 29 in a month. I don't mind it though cause I enjoy looking younger than I am.

I get ID'd buying scratch-off lottery tickets!!!!
When my parents came to visit, we actually got into St. Paul's Cathedral on a family ticket - two paying adults and a kid under 12...now, come on! It was two days after my 28th birthday!!! The ticket seller didn't even bat an eye!!

I get IDed for everything! I dont' get the children's menu anymore, but people are always shocked that I'm old enough to be married. Everyone tells me that I look 16 when I'm 25! DH looks young too. Someone said that our wedding pictures look like kids getting married!

I've said it before ... I'll be 37 in February and people still think I am 12 (well, when I was skinnier - I think the weight I've gained in my face has me looking a little older).
So point is when you are 40 (or almost 40!!), it's still annoying.

When I wear no makeup, I am called ma'am and treated like an old lady, but if I go out to a bar w/ DH and I get dressed up and do my makeup, I ALWAYS get proofed.
I was w/DH, our best man and another guy friend and NONE of them got proofed and I did.
I am told I look 18. Not horrible, but I am 28

Just before my wedding, my mother needed to have an angiogram and the triage nurse didn't want to take my info as next of kin until I showed her my ID.
I actually got upset with her about it. I do look young for my age, but I certainly do not look like a minor.
