Why are girls who are getting married in 1 year going for a hair trail now? It seems like something I would want to do much closer to the date??? Maybe I am missing something I should be doing????

I just keep seeing the posts on the 06 board for this. When I come on here I feel like I am behind, but when I tell people, outside people what I have done, they tell me I am crazy ahead.
I want to wait for fun stuff like hair trials closer to the wedding, why rush it now????
I feel like it takes the fun out of everything to finish so early....

Re: Why so early?
Some hair and MU people book up fast. So a lot of the 06 girls have been going on trials so that they get someone they really want while their date is still open.
At first I thought it was silly too, but now it makes sense if you're interested in someone who's well-known and often busy.

classic styles wont change all that much, and if you do it early, you have time to do more if needed in case you dont like something and want to try something new, or want to try a new person...also when you booked a trial most people hold that date for your wedding

I don't think styles will change too much either.
Stylists do book quickly, especially the ladies who are will to come to you.

Re: Why so early?
i booked my hair and makeup girls with a $20 deposit each which will be credited the day of.
i won't do trials until next year. i know i'll love them because my best friend (johnny&maur) loved oksana so i know i will too. and i saw jenn's pics of hair and love her work.
besides...i need someone at my house at 5am and my regular hair girl can't do it and i don't know anyone else!

Re: Why so early?
I am on a quest for a hair person now, and my first 2 choices wer NOT available for my date!!! I'd wait for the trials, but I don't even know who I am using. I'd rather do a trial now, find the person I want to do it, then ask for a mini-trial closer to the date, incase I change my mind.

Re: Why so early?
I will tell you why. I thought the same way you do. Especially because my hair is on the shorter side and will grow a lot before the wedding. On a whim, I thought I would start emailing some hair and m/u people just to see if they were available, prices, etc. My wedding is at 12pm on a Sunday, and we are taking pics before, so I knew that there was no way I would be getting to a salon at 6:30am. I started emailing people and 2 out of the 3 were already booked!!! Then I went into panic mode. I didn't want to book someone without a trial. So low and behold I had a hair and makeup trial 11 months before the wedding.

Re: Why so early?
It think a lot of the LIW hair/make-up vendors book up pretty quick so people want to book them early if they see somebody that they like. Plus you can always change your style, I think people just want to see if they have the same taste as the oerson and if their personalities clicked as well. There are a lot of hair/make-up people around ...I think I'll probably do that in the fall/winter.

Re: Why so early?
i'm waiting on both...my hair is in the growing out phase and a trial will not really be a trial...it won't look exactly how i want it to look....and the girl i'm using pretty much she knows i'm using her, just have to book the day and thats not a big deal. i'm waiting until june, just can't see getting it done now
