Years ago I asked my mom and my Nana how they learned to cook and they said when they got married they just picked up recipes and learned from there. My FH does most of the cooking and he's really good at it! I usually just find a recipe that sounds good and just make it. Real Simple and Everyday Food have some nice easy ones.

I love to cook. I've always watched everyone. Now FH watches me and then makes my dishes on nights when I'm at school. and now I sell Pampered Chef so I always want to cook to use my fun tools haha

Thankfully my fh mother is a trained chef so he knows how to cook. I cook Haitian food but only when I have time, otherwise I cook whatever is in the fridge.

I was actually scared of this too but since FH and I have moved in together about a month ago I've just been teaching myself and calling my mom along the way. It isnt so bad. FH cooks a bit also.

Don't feel bad I have no idea how to cook...I guess at some point I will have to learn but if FH thinks I'm going to be the only one cooking he is out of his mind!

I had no clue how to cook until FH and i moved in together about a year and a half ago.Being he is 100 percent Italian food means a lot so i had to learn quick All i do is print out recipies that i think sound good and attempt them. I even masterd FH favorite dish its all trial and error and it really becomes fun once you get the hang of it

Nope..not the cooking type..told FH from the 1st week we met...needless to say he thought I was joking

I can cook a few dishes but between work, student teaching, school & kids I am not adding cooking to my list

My husband cant cook and actually i dont mind cooking-been doing it since i was 14... If i ever have a question i would call my grandmother tho... i have a son, so its a must for me to cook. I really cant see me feeding my man and my baby fast food every nite.

But-If you get a cookbook you should be ok..

Even though I'm a classically trained chef, I hardly cook at all for myself or FH. The 'Joy of Cooking' is a great beginner's guide on how to cook anything.

The basic things that anyone needs to know how to make that is very easy:
Roast chicken
Pasta with sauce or rice
Eggs
Basic Vinegarette (mustard, salt + pepper, vinegar and oil)
Grilled Steak to the correct doneness (rare, medium, etc).

Seriously, if you learn how to make these few things well, you can make almost anything else from there.

I like to cook but not clean so I'm a bit wifey. However, I didn't really learn to cook form my mother in a traditional way. She was just one day was like oh your hungry , you should make something to eat. So I learned to make simple things and noe I am learning to make more elaborate things.

I love to cook and so does my hubby which makes my life easy BUT he never cleans up which annoys me. Cleaning is the worst part.

I don't mind cooking and from time to time I will try to make a different dish (We still live at home with our parents so I am not forced to cook for myself yet lol) Cooking can be fun especially when it comes out good but I have had a couple of not so good dishes. I have to give credit to my FH though he never ever criticizes what I make. He also tells me how good it is. He is probably afraid if he criticizes me I will never cook for him again lol

HAHAHAH I am all prepared and domesticated lol I started helping my mom cook at a young age so I learned everything from her and FH has a bigggggggggggggg appetite. within 2 weeks of us talking he was asking me if i can cook then he asked my mom to make sure I wasnt lying lol I guess its too late to turn back huh?

I try to pretend I can't cook, just to get out of it. But my mother and grandmother have insisted, 'If you know how to read, you know how to cook'.
