I need a dress for a wedding on Aug 9th it starts at 6p. The Invitation said dress attire appreciated... I can't find anything inexpensive and in my size 18/20. HELP.... I seriously have nothing I won a ton of business stuff. but NO dresses ...

I understand the size as I am close to that...in between 16 & 18. Did you try David's bridal? Also, I sometimes find dresses at Jcp. How about online?

Not sure how 'dressy' you (or the bride - haha) is looking for or what your $ limit is, but here's their 'Bridesmaid' section - some of the stuff really isn't over the top 'ballgown-y'
I'm liking this halter dress better . . . and they have wraps that look like they'll go with it.

ooh this one is nice. I too am that size- try Lane Bryant. I had gotten a simple black pleated dress from them and I dressed it up with pearls for a wedding. You can always dress up a black dress good luck

I found these on lanebryant.com. not sure if they are not dressy enough for you(I don't think she means wear a gown- just don't dress casual) The last one I have and wore to a wedding. I jazzed it up with some red heels. It was so comfortable to dance in
