Windows on the Lake

Windows on the Lake

Its on my tentative list of places to call to check my date ..

Its the only one that I don't have any direct recommendations about (though there website looks nice.. but doesn't EVERYONE'S website look nice?)

Any positive/negative feedback about it? Mostly, if its 'super expensive' I'll cross it OFF my list

Thanks!!

Re: Windows on the Lake

FSIL had her wedding there in April. I thought that the food was ok but really liked the room. The one thing that I just hated was that there was another event happening at the same time so when we came in, it was chaos and no one knew where to go. So naturally this event let out around the same time so the valet was all backed up.

I went to look at it for my wedding - it definitely wasn't too expensive - in fact, it was probably the best deal. However, there were a few things that I didn't personally like - which made me look elsewhere. The room was beautiful and had a gorgeous painted ceiling, but it seemed a bit antiquated to me - it looked like it hadn't had a fresh coat of paint in a while.
Also, there is a room, which is part of the main room - but almost off in an alcove - that if your guests are sitting there - it seemed to me that they wouldn't seem part of the main room - my friend's sister had her wedding there and that's what happened.
Again - the guy was really nice and it seemed like a great deal - it just wasn't for me - you should check it out though and see for yourself! Good luck!

My fiance was going to get married there the first time he was engaged, so he likes it a lot....i didn't look there for obvious reasons, but i have heard that it's pretty

The room was very pretty with a great view.
It's also not really on a lake - it's across the street from it. I also didn't like the power lines strung across the front.

Ohhh, I just thought of something else I don't like. My cousin is a bartender there and they have to give a % of their tips to the owner!! Are you kidding? Doesn't the owner make enough already, ha has to get a % of what little tips the bartenders get? I have to ask if he gets a % of the Maitre D' tip as well.....

Hmmm ... I might try to make an appointment to check it out in person, but some of what you girls said isn't exactly making it sound like the kind of place I'm looking for ..

However - I'll keep an open mind.... I realize that given the short timeframe of my engagement, I have to be flexible!

We went to a wedding there. Food was great. We were close to the bar and had a great time. Only negative thing. Some people's seats were set back in another room! They couldn't even see the weddings. This was in the room with the cloud ceiling. We felt very bad for those tables.

I went there for a communion, not a wedding, and I had a really good time. The staff was nice and the food was good! My friend's cousin recently got married there and she had the BEST time!
I read that bad review from wowlifeisgood and that would definately scare me enough not to book there.
