Re: windows on the lake.
I went to a wedding there over the summer and the food was just ok. The staff was somewhat helpful. The room was small and situated in a weird way so that you had to move to see the dance floor. Overall, I'd give it a c+. Hope that helps

Re: windows on the lake.
well. i booked for August 1st of 08.
Im a little nervous because the guy im dealing with is very pushy, and that i must commit to 150 people. a friend of mine got married there, and she said that hes just luring us onto extra $$$.
anyone else have any feedback?

Re: windows on the lake.
i am getting married at the beach club (their sister hall) and we went to the expo at windows. i actually thought the food was really good, as did my fh, sil, bro, fbil and fsil. i thought the rooms were beautiful, and i thought the view was fantastic. the only thing i thought was a little weird is that if you have your ceremony across the street, everyone has to cross over and back. but the road is not busy, and i have heard from other brides on here that they stop traffic, and that it's not a big deal.
also, just to let you know we are using their in-house dj, 4th generation, and i have heard REALLLLY good things about them! everyone who has reviewed the beach club has raved and said they were amazing.
if you have any other q's let me know, i might be able to help.

you MUST be talking about rob?!
he is the pushiest guy ever. when you go there to talk to him, just make sure you bring your mom, or a sister or a friend b/c if just you or just you and fh go he'll try to push all of the vendors on you and things like that b/c they want you to put more $$ into them.
his pushy attitude is the only negative experience i have had in dealing w them so far.

Re: windows on the lake.
I went to a wedding there a few years ago and honestly the place didnt thrill me. I remember the setup of table was a little awkward. If you are having second thoughts, you might want to consider backing out. Even if you lose some money I think you'd rather know you are gonig to be happy and satisfied on yuor wedding day. Good luck!

Re: windows on the lake.
FBIL had his wedding there and SO many people said it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to! it's alll about what you make of it. the room was situated a little weird (the back section)...but it wasnt a huge deal. plus...they had over 200 ppl. so if you dont even think u will hit 150 then you might not have to seat too many people in the back section. the ceremony accross the street was nice, and i honestly didnt even notice about crossing the street. they stop traffic for you and it is not a big deal at all. i wouldnt worry. coming on here i am surprised about some of the reviews i read on WOTL but it really was a beautiful wedding. i think you made a great choice and i would even consider using the hall if FBIL didnt. they have great prices i heard. i hope that helps!

For centerpeices you can go to your local supermarket and see what they can do as far as flowers for you. The same goes for your bouquets. You'll have to wrap them but it saves you a lot of money.

I'm having my wedding at windows. Yes the people there are a little pushy--especially because they want you to book with events unlimited, which to be quite honest is too expensive for us, so we're only using their dj. When we went to the bridal show in January, the food was ok (nothing fabulous) but I think the greatest thing about windows is the view of the lake and I LOVE the ceiling.
Good luck with everything.
If you need any help or a venting partner, let me know!

Re: windows on the lake.
FH's cousin had her wedding there last June...the food was okay, nothing spectacular, and like some other girls have said, the room is situated weirdly. She had about 150 people, and the CH room was so tight. I felt closed in- partly because the building is older so the ceilings are low. The service was okay- not enough bartenders in the CH or reception.
I just felt it was too small and the food was okay. I am going to another wedding there this summer though for FH's other cousin- maybe it will be better the 2nd time around.
I will say that the DJ was really good. We all had a great time
