Wine Favors

I was wondering if anyone was doing bottles of wine as favors? If anyone is doing it could you give me an idea of where you went and about how much per bottle of wine. I do not want to spend crazy money but FH and I love wine and would love to do this. Thanks girls!

One of the favors im doing small bottles of sutter home. They are about $5.98 per 4 pack. They are small but yet again dont break the bank and serve the point. they are at most liquor stores.

I did full bottles of wine (one per couple/family) and we got the wine bottles as a gift ($5-$7 each.) I replaced the labels w/my own and put them in organza bags.

There are cheaper wines that you can find:
Spanish Reds at $4-$5 each
White Zin for $6 each
Pugliese Vineyards has white wines for about $6

My grandfather makes his own wine and has been doing it for years. We are having our own blend of red made up and he is going to make it and bottle it for us and we are having custom labels made for the bottles. The approx cost is $400.

we are doing wine from Wolffer Winery -- they sell 1/2 bottles of their Le Ferme Martin Chardonay & Merlot. so we'll probably get a a split order so each table will have both types of wine. I know regualr retailon them is $7 but when you buy it by the case they do discount. Also Pindar is great for wine -- they discount too. and I think the full bottles sell for $6.

we are going to put our favors in organza bags too.

Here is a photo of the Wolffer from another bride I found --

I don't think you necessarily need to go anywhere special to get the wine - you can pick it up anywhere and just put a ribbon on it and maybe a sticker with your names and dat.e I think a LI wine would be fun - you can get a lot of the Pindar wines on sale for $5-6 at times. Just look through local magazines for some sales - they go on sale frequently (try the Pennysaver or something). Looks like you're doing a fall wedding - you could buy their autumn gold and get cute leaf stickers made up, or tie on a ribbon in one of your colors and punch a hole through a leaf-shaped tag with your wedding info and a brief 'thank you for coming' message. also, you can give one bottle per couple instead of per person, to save money.

I did full bottles for our eparty. We bought the wine from a liquor store, designed our own labels and relabeled the wine. I promise to post a pic this week. We only did about 36 bottles because our party was small. It was kind of a pain to peel the labels off and relabel them...but they came out great.
