My FH are thinking about doing wine as favors. I think it's the best thing for the money and at least you know that everyone at one point will actually USE a bottle of wine. My question is, for those putting your own lables on the bottles, are you peeling off the labels on the bottles already, or are you putting the label right over it. Thanks!!!

Most I have seen peel the label off then stick the personalized one over it.
I just decided the other day that I was going to do wine favors and just put them in white or lavender (mixing the colors) organza bag and put a nice matching favor tag with it.
FH said it would be too much work (he's not much of a DIY'er) and it would be less time consuming in general.

Im going to be doing wine labels and FBIL is a wine salesman and he said some vineyards make custom labels so im going to look into doing that otherwise im going to leave the wine they way it is and get favor tags to tie around the top of the bottle

if you look in my album I am doing them but I peeled the orginal label off...it is a pain the butt...but it looks so much nicer...

i am taking the label off.. Actually I plan on trying to schelp this task off on my fmil or fh.. i figure it'll be a nice bonding time for them.. and im sending fh and ffil into manhattan next weekend to actually BUY the wine bottles.. a nice bonding activity for the two of them!

Just wanted to share my p.o.v. on the labels for the bottles themselves .... we skipped it b/c we really wanted people to enjoy the bottles of wine, and not think they're supposed to save them as a keepsake .... We felt the favor tags were enough to make it personalized.
I've seen lots of really nice personalized labels though if you do decide to go that route ... check out the favors & diy threads on the 07 boards for ideas
