I'm interested too! Are you doing whole or half bottles?
I'm leaning towards wine favors. However, I was thinking of DIYing it. I'm not sure if I'm getting half bottles or full bottles. I found a liquor store close to me where I can get half bottles of wine for $1.99 each I would probably need 150- 200 bottles (most of our guests are adults however, we will have a few under age people) so I would try to get a discount. I have read about $3 chuck wine from trader joes which are full bottles. I would use an online website maybe vistaprint to make the labels and I would put the labels on myself.
We did full bottles that we got from Bottles & Cases in Huntington - they have bottles of red or white, 3 for $10 (and they gave us small discount off of that because we bought so much - 14 cases)
We tried the 3 buck chuck from trader joes. The Pinot Grigio was not bad at all! They only sell it at the trader joe wine store in the city, but it you are ever there I picked up all the different ones and we taste tested them. For $2.99 you can't beat getting a large bottle with pretty decent wine!
Thank you for your suggestions. I am going to check my local liquor store and trader joe's.
This is actually a really cute favor idea...is there a place you could get photo labels for cheap?
Try Frank's Liquors in CI....they always have lots of deals.
Im thinking about doing wine as favors also because we got engaged at the winery. Im going to check Trader Joes also. The winery we got engaged can be a little pricey.
You can get full size wine bottles at trader joes in union square $3 each and many different kinds
