I was wondering who thinks that a bottle of wine per family, plus a set of wine charms and/or coasters with a wine theme on them is a nice favor? Would you be happy getting this? Would you think it's cheap-y?
I was thinking that it would be so pretty to wrap them in a cellophane bag, lined with pale pink tissue paper, tied with a ribbon with our name and wedding date and a little rose tie-thingy to hold it on the top of the bag/neck of the bottle. I also saw organza bags that are really pretty too and was thinking that's a good idea as well.
What do you think???

LOL thanks. What if it is just the wine? Will it be equally as nice?

Sure, only the wine bottle of wine is nice, but i like the coordination aspect of the wine charms, but i know that can get expensive if you have a large guestlist. Either way, I'm sure people will love the wine whether it's alone or with accessories ... Just my opinion of course

Re: Wine favors? What do you think?
I did the wine/champange favors w/labels for our e party. It is a nice thing - but when doing it for a wedding keep in mind maybe all people don't drink? Are children attending?
anyway, I do like it - I did the charms too. you can make them yourself and save the money. Just really labor intensified. Go to micheals pick plain hoop earings. Farily cheap for a box of 50. Then you can pick the color beads you would like on them as they sell them in the packs.
If you would like to use a charm than look up charms on ebay. I found tons and bought them in lots!
Get started right away! Or you will be kicking yourself later

We are having one cousin who is 5, one who is 9 and the other who is 11 attneding...NO other kids. I said that to my mom (What if some don't drink?) and she said something VERY wise and eye-opening....(If you get a serving dish, what if they don't cook? What if it doesn't match their kitchen? What if you get a candle? Maybe some are afraid their houses will go on fire. What if you get them edible favors? What if some are on a diet and can't eat it? You CAN'T please everyone!) I thought this was genius!

I love that idea - I am also planning on giving out wine bottles - I'll be getting married in August so I was thinking bottles of Pindar's 'Summer Blush.'

I'm thinking of this myself. My fiance is from Oregon. So I was thinking of giving out red's and white's from Oregon. If you call the winery direct they will give you a discount.

Re: Wine favors? What do you think?
I think it's a great idea. I went to a wedding where they also gave out wine as favors, and it was in these ceramis wine holders and wrapped in netting.. very pretty in appearance. Try looking up wholesale companies online if you want to get the wine holders because I think they're fairly inexpensive if you buy them wholesale.
