Wine List

Wine List

Okay, so neither my Fiancee nor I drink wine, but many of our guests do. Thing is, I don't have a clue about what kind of wine to offer.

I know I'll need a case of a white and a case of a red, but do any of you have a brand you'd recommend? I'm on a budget, so I'll need something that's preferrably under $20 a bottle.

Please, please, please give me some names, not just a 'visit your liquor store' answer.

Thanks!

Re: Wine List

Since your out east I would definately recommend going to Pugliese or Osprey's Dominion....if you would like a list of good wines for every taste I would be more than obliged...you can go out and taste there as well for FREE!!!! They're both really awesome and most of their wines are $10 and under...plus discounts on the cases...good luck...We're wine enthusiasts

all good choices, Blackstone Merlot is one of our faves! Osprey is another fave -- they have a great Reserve Chardonay.

Love Wolffer too, but some of their wines are more pricey - but try the Le Ferme Martin Chardonay & Merlot and their Pinot Gris they are reasonable.

Ditto on the Blackstone and the Osprey...

Since most of those wines are under $10/bottle and you were budgeting $20/bottle - why not spring for about 6 bottles of dessert wine as an added touch?

Thanks for the recommendations girls!

As for a dessert wine, I think with Beer, wine, soda, 4 signature mixed drinks and a champagne toast, we should be good.

Any more?

Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio is great and very popular... In restaurants its usually around $30 or so but if you go to Bottlebargains in northport --they sell it for $15 a bottle...probably get a discount for a case

their phone # is 631-757-2187 and their website is bottlebargains.com for directions and such

i agree. fh and i looooove santa margarita pinot! we will be serving this as our white wine....

i dont really like red...so that's up to fh.

i would say def do the tastings at the winieries out east (as was mentioned before) cuz its a good place to sample stuff....even if its just to go and get a feel for the diff types of wine.

I love Monkey Bay both their Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonney-they are about 12 a bottle. Simi also makes a very good Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonney for about the same price.
