Wingate Inn - Commack

Good hotel or not?

Just need a place to stay for our wedding night and dont want to spend too much $$$. Their 2 bedroom suite was only 209 for the night with a whirlpool tub

I tried to block rooms there last summer for my wedding (but they were already booked for the US Open, actually, everything was booked from out east all the way to Plainview, it was ridiculous)

Anyway, when the manager told me that even if the rooms were available, they would be $250 a night, I laughed and asked her: 'Is this is the same Wingate on Crooked Hill, next to a junk yard, across from and adult shop with a psych center down the road?'

Sorry, I am not sure if the hotel is nice inside or not, but the location doesn't seem the best and I couldn't stand the fact that they were jacking up their rates over a $100 a room just for the US Open.
