They offered a good rate on blocked hotel rooms for our guests.
I have never seen the place (Of course I'd go before we blocked rooms there). I am very familiar with the Garden City area... but looking on the map, I cannot tell if it is in a nice area or not. I know some areas around there can be almost industrial. Is it closer to the mall / commercial area, or closer to the more industrial area?
It is conveniently right off the parkway, though. Also, with the church in West Hemsptead and the reception in Glen Cove, it's somewhat centrally located.

The hotel I would say is in a good area..... Its right near the Coliseum and Roosevelt Field Mall.....Im want to say it is on Stewart Avenue....? Dont know if that helps any but hopefully it does

its near the city cafe on stewart avenue if that helps. New RF mall and Eisenhower Park. the company i used to work for used it when the sales reps would come into town for meetings, and I never heard anything bad about it.
Dont kow if it helps, but I think its in a good area and a nice hotel from what I have heard

It's on Stewart Ave but it's definitely in more of the industrial area of Garden City...it's by Burlington kind of .

Yes, it is on Stewart Ave. I had a hard time picturing where in GC it was from the map, but I think I have a better idea now. Thanks so much! I'll have to make a trip there this weekend to check it out.
They are offering a nice deal, so I really want to consider them. (If 15 rooms book, we get 1 14-passenger shuttle to/from the reception free! -- or we can choose one of the other offers... but this is the one we'd go with!)

Ahhh, I know where it is now.
I was just worried it was closer to say Hofstra / Hempstead / Uniondale. I'm not as concerned with it being by the mall, though, as long as it's not in this one weird section of GC that's sort of sketchy. I wish I could describe where that is. I think I know exactly where it is now, though!
I'll have to take a trip there this weekend to check it out! I'll report back.

my guests are staying there and we got the bridal suite for the night there..... everything worked out well and we got the shuttle thrown in

Was this because of the number of rooms you booked? We were told we could get 1 free (14-passenger) shuttle if we booked 15 rooms... If we booked 15 rooms, though, we'd need to get a second shuttle...
Also, they quoted me $149/night. Is this in the same price range as you were quoted?
I looked at their regular rates for the same date and they are coming up as $189/night.

We stayed there, as did our guests, and it was very nice. I have lots of good things to say about the Wingate Inn.

For every 15 rooms they will give you one free shuttle. If you need to pay for another shuttle, they have a company they use and they had pretty good rates..they will coordinate it for you and everything..hth!

ours is next week so I'm sure the prices increased for next year... our guests paid $129 a night... we had 11 rooms plus our suite (which is equal to like 2 1/2 - 3 rooms in price), we asked to throw in the shuttle, they said yes...

I was thinking of staying here myself and blocking some rooms but the woman told me regarding the shuttle, that it does not run after 11:00 and my reception ends at 1:30AM. I was shocked by this b/c FH's sister used their shuttle when she got married and her wedding ended at 1:15.

I booked there and they told me $119.00 a night and for 10 rooms booked they would throw in the shuttle (to and from the hotel and hall) and for 15 rooms would throw in a 3rd trip via shuttle to the church in the morning (guests who use that would be our international guests without a car). Also, we could choose to get 25% off our suite for 10 rooms booked.
Area is fine... they do FREE shuttle runs to Roosevelt Field for people without cars and shuttle runs to Mineola LIRR station for free. HTH...

I stayed there for a friend's wedding. It was great!! Great room, clean, great service....good area.
