WINNIE/WCC

I'm getting married at WCC in July. I heard they don't do 'tastings' anymore. They do have showcases where you can sample the food at the coctail hour. I'm not using one of their florist recommendations. They tell you that you 'have to' but it's not true. I'm using Flowers by Kelly and Co. in Lynbrook on Atlantic Avenue. She was great to work with and will do anything for any budget. (I'm getting married there under the gazebo and have the upstairs room).

74Bride, are they decorating the gazebo for you too? Do you mind telling me how much you paid for the flowers and what you are getting? I was thinking of using Burtons cuz it was recommended by many on this site. Did you go to the showcases and tried their food, if so what do you think of it?

HI, I haven't gone to a showcase yet. I have been to a wedding at WCC a few years ago and the food was great-but nothing more recent. As for the florist, I'm getting the gazebo decorated by Flowers by Kelly. Just a row of roses on top with tulle and 2 bushels of flowers on the front 2 legs...she's charging me $275.00.(also having petals down the isle) Other florists wanted 400.00! I'm having low centerpieces for the tables with 2 dozen roses in each for $70.00 a piece. My bouquet is $130, the BM's are 60 each (all roses). My budget was $2000.00 so she worked with me on that price. Hope this helps. (I'm getting married 1 week after you!)

Thanks so much for the help. Now i have an idea of what it costs. I've never heard of Flowers by Kelly, where is she located? Have you seen her work before? I'm having the downstairs room for the reception and the outdoor part for the ceremony and cocktail hour. I haven't been back there since we booked the place. When are you gonna go pick out your menu? I'm gonna ask them about the showcases before I go pick the menu out. Again, thank you soooo much.

HI I called up WCC and they told me to come in May to pick out the menu. I haven't seen Kelly's work, but I've seen lots of pictures. Did WCC say anything about you using an outside florist? Are you using the Gazebo area or the other area with the Gazebo on the lake? The date is coming near and I've yet to get the invitations. I've ordered them but it takes 2 weeks so i'll be mailing htem like the end of march/beg. of april. Have you mailed your invites yet? I was getting a little nervous about not seeing any WCC brides but I'm relieved now. Thanks for your help.
