Winter Bride Thread

Well, it seems like there are a lot of us out there so I thought I'd start an official 'Winter Bride Thread'. Hopefully we can share lots of fun ideas.

Since I started this thing, here I go....

So far we've set our date and gotten the reception hall, 12/13/03 at Danfords on the Sound in Port Jefferson. We are having the ceremony there too. (evening)

My BM dresses will be black and they'll be carrying red & white roses with red holly berries and greenery.

I just purchased part of the favors last night (gotta love the after Christmas sales :-) They are red/green/gold ornaments, very pretty. 28 for $7.99! (I'll post pictures next). Will put them in red organza bag with some chocolates.

Will use hurricane lamps for centerpieces (provided by Danfords) and put greenery around them.

I have some other ideas too but that's A LOT to put into an intro. thread

What are all you other winter brides planning?

Re: Winter Bride Thread

I'm not sure yet, still checking out styles. No fur but probably some sort of velvet. Check out this one...

Re: Winter Bride Thread

I like but I have my heart set on fur on the dresses somewhere with fur muff's and capes with fur on it and I want them wearing fur headbands..........

I HATE FLOWERS!!!!

Re: Winter Bride Thread

Is that a centerpiece?

Re: Winter Bride Thread

LOL... some way, some how, we will find you fur dresses and accessories!

Re: Winter Bride Thread

No, its not a centerpiece, its just how the ornaments are displayed in the picture. We'll be using hurricane lamps as centerpieces with greenery and probably pine cones or something around them.

Re: Winter Bride Thread

What kind of dress are you looking to get?

Re: Winter Bride Thread

Nice.....

I guess you know I want something VERY dramatic and FUR!!!!!!!!

Re: Winter Bride Thread

Have you considered having your dress made instead of finding one in a store? You could probably help design the dress of your dreams... with FUR of course
Ronnie&Theresa Posted:

Re: Winter Bride Thread

No... Bc I have seen a TON posted here and I know that most stores have a selection.....

I don't have patience for having it made...

Re: Winter Bride Thread

I'm a winter bride. The wedding is in 11 days.
My gown is posted on the gown thread. It's long sleeves.

My girls are wearing these dresses:

In this color:

with elbow length gloves.

Flowers will be black magic and blacm baccarat roses accented with green berries and cymbidium orchids.

FUR
Great place to get a fur stole EBAY!!

I got this mink stole for $50 plus shipping. It wraps and looks like a short cape. Falls to right above my waist. I didn't really like the look of the fake furs and muffs.
Do a search for 'FUR STOLE', 'FUR CAPE', and 'FUR CAPELET' and you should get a lot of hits. 'White Fur Jacket' works too, but it's usually rabbit and rabbit sheds like crazy.

I'll probably pick up some ivory silk gloves this week, just to keep my hands warm. It's supposed to be COLD!!

VERY PRETTY!!!! I love all of your choices!!!
Bridal Reflections in Massapequa has had a gown with fur in the window for about a month-I have no idea who makes it though.

Re: Winter Bride Thread

I am not a winter bride, but I just wanted to let Ronnie&Theresa know that I thought of you when i went to meet with my florist. She had the picture books of all that she had done and she did a really beautiful muff (with justa few roses). If you want to get ideas, she is great to talk to. Heidi at Sugar Magnolias.
Good luck!
