Winter Brides

Winter Brides

Is anyone else freaking about the weather at all!! I am so worried and kicking myself in the ass for planning a wedding in the dead of winter. What was I thinking???? I can't believe they are calling for snow already, this early in December, What is it going to be like in February? I am so worried now. I knew that it was definitley possible when I started planning, but in the back of my head, I thought what are the chances. I have known so many people that got married in February and they had 65 degree days. I am praying for this like crazy. I just have this big fear that it is going to be a terrible winter and I am not going to be able to make it to my wedding. Calm me down please, tell me you have a feeling it won't snow!! Tell me something, give me some hope!!!!

Dont worry. You could have had a summer day, hot and humid and 100 degrees. You cant predict it. I would like a bit of snow on the ground I think. It will look pretty.

Don't worry about it - the odds are still in your favor!!! You will get to your wedding and you will get married!

I'm with you Boop, I am petrified now. We never get snow this early, go figure. I can only pray that everything works out.

Re: Winter Brides

you should relax... you could have had it in august and it could pour rain down on you. I would not freak out about it because worrying now is only going to make matters worse.. you will only know when your day arrives. Besides just because it may snow in december does not mean it will snow in february or at that on your wedding day. And even if there is some snow i am sure it will be beautiful. don't worry, just relax.. there is so much more to think about....like $$$$

Re: Winter Brides

Hopefully this makes you feel a little bit better

I graduated from college May 19 2002 (a college in Albany NY)

It snowed on my graduation day...yes you read correctly SNOWED ..it was enough snow that we made snowmen on our motorboards.

My mom kept asking me to change my wedding date due to the Possibility of incliment weather. First and foremost I could never pass us the good deals you get when you marry in the off season plus just a little snow would look amazing in pictures.

just my 2 cents

The weather is so unpredictable...it can snow now and you can still get a 65 degree day on your wedding day...

Re: Winter Brides

Dont you want gorgeous pictures in the perfect white gleaiming snow???

I'm not saying it will snow on your wedding - but you truly can NEVER tell what the whether will be like - by cousin got married in Feb and it misted lightly all day - and wasnt even too cold. Sure not the best of the weather - but it was fine...the wedding was gorgeous none the less/...

Look at it this way - either way any day you choose is a gamble...

It could snow, rain, mist, hail, be humid, be swelter hot, be freezing cold, be highly windy, be extremely sunny and any mixed permutation of every type of weather condition....

either way...your day WILL be PERFECT!!

I wouldn't mind a little bit, but I don't want 3-6 inches falling. We have soooo many people coming from out of town by car and plane. I just want them all to be there.

Tell me about it I'm getting married this Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, I don't regret getting married in the winter at all...I'd rather have snow than a hot, sticky, humid day!!!!

Re: Winter Brides

hey franksbride, i'm getting married at the cottage also, next year 11/27/04...i was there last week to make sure that the holiday decorations are up and the place looks great...

btw, what do you suggest for a wedding dress?...i'm really partial to strapless, but this might be too much for a late nov wedding...

Re: Winter Brides

Boop, I am a little worried. Not about snow so much... I actually think I would like JUST A LITTLE BIT...but I am really worriesd about slush & ice.....

I remember even last year when we had early snow...January & february weren't that bed...mostly accumulating flurries. It got really bad in March & April, which was very strange b/c it is normally not snowy then. I think we will all be fine, but, just in case......check your contracts for a snow closure clause, or ask your catering hall how they determine a snow emergency.
