Winter brides...

What colors are you using? (BM dresses/flowers)

What flowers? (type/color)

My bridesmaids are all in the apple color from Davids Bridal and my flowers are 3-4 dozen red roses.

YAY I have a date twin.

As far as colors for dresses go, I have no clue. I was hovering between a garnet red, a sage or a periwinkle color.

I will give you one bit of advice though, because our weddings are in the middle of February, the cost of ROSES will be sky high for two reasons. The first is obviously because of Valentines Day. Even though the holiday will be over, the cost remains high. The second reason is (and I nearly lost it laughing when my caterer told me this) was the Rose Bowl Parade. They use gazillions of roses for this event from all over the world thus making them a drop harder to get and more expensive to use. Again, the parade is a bit of time before our weddings but the crop of roses could be somewhat scarce at the time of which your florist would have to order them. So basically, I have no idea what I am going to use. I dont have my heart set on anything and I am pretty easy going about flowers.

OOOOh....Thanks for that info about roses! I never thought my wedding would be influenced by the rose bowl.......

I haven't completely decided yet, but I think my BM dresses will be Sangria (a dark, purple-y red).

My girls are in navy and I'm using a lot of silver and white. The bouquets will have a lot of stephanotis flowers; I also plan to somehow incorporate crystals into the bouquets (if possible).

Re: Winter brides...

I've always wanted a deep red color for a February wedding, but I recently fell in love with a gown I saw in a gorgeous champagne color.

I don't know how flattering champagne will be on my girls though - they're all pretty pale, and since it's Feb., no one will be tan... I don't want them to look washed out or anything....

I have plenty of time to get lookin'

I have yet to make a decision, but am also leaning toward a deep red burgandy type color. As for flowers, the plan is calla lillies in tall centerpeices. Callas and Roses in my bouquet and roses for the girls.

I like calla lillies and since Jewish people tend not to use flowers at funerals anyway, I don't worry should I choose to use them.
