WINTER BRIDES

WINTER BRIDES

So.....I am having a Friday wedding where the cocktail hour starts at 8:30...
EDIT**the reception starts at 7:30

I need to give the church a time for the ceremony.

The problem is the sun sets at 5:30 on that day.....
and I want to take some pictures in daylight...what is everyone else doing who is getting married in the winter evenings? Or for anyone else..any suggestions.

well if the sun sets at 5:30 and you want pics in the daylight, then maybe having the ceremony at 4pm so by 4:30 youre out of there, then by the time you talk to some people, take a few pics outside of church you might have SOME time to take a few pics...or maybe 3-something...this also depends if you are having just the regular ceremony or the mass

You can also do a day after photoshoot. Is that what they're called?

i have a big gap too, and most people do actually, its part of the whole wedding thing...people will be fine..plus if your wedding is on a friday, many will just go straight to the reception, dont worry. Are you having a mass?

I'm having my ceremony and reception during the day, so I won't really have a problem. But because you are doing a winter wedding, I probably wouldn't leave TOO much time between the ceremony and the reception in case it's freezing out or the weather is terrible. I went to a winter wedding once where there was about 3 hours in between....and it was way too cold to walk around outside...we ended up sitting around at the food court of a local mall!!!

Would you be willing to see your FH before the ceremony? Then you can take pictures for as long as you want in the afternoon before the ceremony....and you won't be pressed for time.

NO CH though, that is rude...well thats why its also good to have a plan for after the ceremony for those who go to the church...I know half of our guests wont go to the church, but for those who are going I think FMIL will have drinks and food at her house after, like a small party...Plus my RH has a lounge with food and drinks and music for any guests that arrive early
