So.....I am having a Friday wedding where the cocktail hour starts at 8:30... EDIT**the reception starts at 7:30
I need to give the church a time for the ceremony.
The problem is the sun sets at 5:30 on that day..... and I want to take some pictures in daylight...what is everyone else doing who is getting married in the winter evenings? Or for anyone else..any suggestions.

NO CH though, that is rude...well thats why its also good to have a plan for after the ceremony for those who go to the church...I know half of our guests wont go to the church, but for those who are going I think FMIL will have drinks and food at her house after, like a small party...Plus my RH has a lounge with food and drinks and music for any guests that arrive early
haha yeah..well, it was a traditional chinese banquet...there's normally no CH with those since it's a 10 course meal!!! but yeah, as long as there's somewhere for the guests to go and hang out, it doesn't matter!!!

I'm having my ceremony and reception during the day, so I won't really have a problem. But because you are doing a winter wedding, I probably wouldn't leave TOO much time between the ceremony and the reception in case it's freezing out or the weather is terrible. I went to a winter wedding once where there was about 3 hours in between....and it was way too cold to walk around outside...we ended up sitting around at the food court of a local mall!!!
Would you be willing to see your FH before the ceremony? Then you can take pictures for as long as you want in the afternoon before the ceremony....and you won't be pressed for time.
Sorry didnt see this post b4...Im sayin noone is going to go to the church, Its a friday..people are working.....i think that if they see the church is so early and the reception later...then they wont come..i really done care any more lol.....I want daylight pics....
lol

We are having our wedding in January and we've just come to terms that it will be cold and possibly raining or snowing so we are just taking indoor pictures

Its nice that JT has those things outside. That's pretty convenient for you. We might do two things: Since our wedding is in the winter we definitely want outdoor Engagement Photos and we might do a day after photoshooot... just us two.

I am getting married on Jan 5, 2008. Which is a Saturday. I am not having my reception till 7 but, I am having my church at 3pm. I am going to go out to to the reception site early with my bridal party and take all my photos by 4:30. This way I will have some outdoor shots in the sun!
