Winter Brides!!

Winter Brides!!

I am 100% having a winter wedding...just because FH works in a business where he has Dec-Feb basically off from work. Otherwise he works 6-7 days a week!!

I'm shooting for 2/14/10 just b/c its a holiday weekend...and V-day!!

I know we can't control Mother Nature, but are any of you concerned about the weather? Or do you not have a lot of OOT guests?

I'm worried that if the weather is bad, basically anyone that isn't coming from LI won't make it, and that is probably half of the guest list!!

Is this just something I can't control, so I shouldn't worry about it???

its something I am worried about with a January wedding. It would go well with our theme, Winter Wonderland, but we have people coming in from (hopefully) Florida, California, Indiana, Ohio, Nevada, Virginia, and a couple of other states, and I am worried about them being able to get here or if there will be a big snowstorm.

Since I have been in NY our weekend has been anywhere from 65 degrees to a 3 foot blizzard. Its a concern in the back of my head, but I know I cant do anything about it. :(

I'm not too concerned about the weather, the only OOT guests are my family and they will all most likely be coming in the week before.

I'd like to have a Winter Wedding but there would be a good chance of my grandparents & great aunt not being able to make the trip cause of their age & possible weather conditions. It's really important to me that they are there so I have to pick a warmer/ more fair weathered month.

A non-winter wedding is no guarantee of great weather -- look at the hurricane! We had 2 guests coming from Florida cancel the day before the wedding because the airport closed and all of the flights out that day were cancelled.

We did have many OOTers, and what I would recommend is try to have the more impt OOTers come at least a few days before the wedding, just in case. DH's parents, aunts and uncles, cousins, brothers, etc all came in 5 days before the wedding, and his grandparents came in 2 days before the wedding. It helped that we got married on a Sunday, but build in a buffer zone just in case to make sure the most important people can be there no matter what happens with the weather

I am actually hoping for a light dusting of snow, but nothing that will make conditions dangerous for our guests.

I just want to be sure that my sister (in Buffalo) and my godmother (Vermont) can make it...but I guess they might have their own winter wedding conditions to worry about. I'll make sure they come in earlier.

I know for 2 weeks before the wedding I'll be glued to channel 61 for LI Weather!!!!!!!

I'm getting married on 2/12. I'm not too worried about snow. I would actually like a little bit of it! FH, on the hand, is very scared of it, lol.

I'm a winter bride, I am not concerned b/c even if I had a summer wedding there are chances of hurricanes. Personally I love the snow and I hope there are some flurries on my day.

I thought about booking the wedding for Feb 27, but I was too scared of snow. On the other hand, my cousin got married on Feb 20 a few years back and she had a beautiful day....it was about 65 degrees. Your family and friends will find a way to get there regardless of the weather.

my original wedding date was 1/14/2010 and bc of my crazy fear of the weather we changed our date to october. I was way too paranoid about the weather to keep it in january...I am already keeping my fingers crossed for all of you girls!!!
