I just mailed my invites out a week ago. People whose households are receiving more than one invitation are getting them days apart. I got MY invitation 4 days after FH got his and we live together! We check all the time even between pages of magazines to see if the response cards were misplaced. Be wary of this winter brides! Your invitations and responses will be delayed b/c of the high volume of mail this holiday season!!!

this is exactly why I sent mine out 'early' last year. They went out the 1st week of December.

I work in the post office in Queens and it is MAYHEM!!!! I don't work there as a postal employee though.... just the electrician :) SO I get to leave that craziness soon!

We mailed our invites in the summer and had the same problem. Two invitations were sent to the same house yet they didn't arrive on the same day. People in the same town received them on different days. Don't worry. The mail system is strange.

Wow - we are having great luck with the mail. I sent mine out this Monday - by Tuesday everyone in the 5 boroughs had rec'd their invites, plus some people in NJ! By Wed - people in LI and CT had rec'd theirs.

It's not just winder mail. The same thing happened to me for our engagement party. And those invites were mailed in August.

thanks for the tip. i already had an idea about that kind of problem...our wedding is feb. 2007...and we'll probably send invites out right around thanksgiving to be in before the holiday rush!!

You're right! People in California got ours days before a friend in Stony Brook. So weird. It took a week for my FMIL to get hers in North Carolina!

Well I got mine the day after you mailed it if I recall.
This is why I'm waiting until after Valentine's Day to send mine out!!! Don't want the invites to get lost in the Valentine's mail!!!
Just pray that you manage to get everyone's response back in a timely fashion!!!
