Winter vs Fall or Spring

Winter vs Fall or Spring

My FH wants to get married on our anniversary, which is January 30th, dead of winter......I always had hoped for a spring wedding such as May but I like the idea of fall also so that brings October.
Now I am open minded. So I told him that if we find a hall that sells me on the winter (it has to be AMAZING inside since we wouldn't be able to do pictures outside) and then he has to sell me more! haha.....then there is the whole weather to worry about, it makes me nervous!!!
So I'd really appreciate advice from those who have gotten married in either season (and if you can tell me where you got married) as well as those who are planning, if you've booked, and where! PLEASE!!!! All opinions will be much appreciated!

Thank You!!!!

I'm getting married 1/20/13 @ The Royalton Mansion. At first I was worried about the weather and not being able to take pics outside...but my RH I think is just perfect for a winter wedding...fireplaces in almost every room, even the bridal suite and I'm still going to have my ceremony outside. They set up a tent and use heaters in there...promises me that it will def be worm in the tent no matter how cold it is outside. As for pics outside, I figure as long as there is not a blizzard going on I'm still going to take pics outside...if there happens to be snow on the ground then I'll throw on my winter white UGGS and take my pics...lol. I really do love the idea of a winter wedding, plus you'll prob save lots of $ on everything since I don't think January is prime wedding season.

Places that are really beautiful inside:

Inn at New Hyde Park

Chateau Briand (has indoor studios for photos)

Venetian Yacht Club is overlooking the bay, so in winter the water looks the same as any other time of year. It's beautiful.

Winter Wonderland theme is nice that time of year

I'm getting married in March- so not the dead of winter but if it anything like last March it won't be much different. The Bourne Mansion's charm, to me, is all about the inside. it is a restored mansion and the only way you get that feeling is from the inside. We are going to take some pics outside though, i am just going to wear a fur coat.

We are getting married on Jan 28th and I originally wanted a fall wedding, but because of my FH's job we couldn't take our honeymoon right after the wedding so we settled for winter... I'm actually really excited for the Winter Wonderland theme because its a little different than most weddings. And its a little cheaper too!

Are you getting married at a church? You can totally have an early ceremony and then take pics before the reception if you want to take pics outside. My friend got married in February and we went down to the Brooklyn Bridge in short dresses and it honestly wasn't too bad standing there because the photographer knew what to get and how to get it and it was fast.

There is no way to guarantee that it won't snow, but then again is there a way to guarantee no rain either??

FM me if you have any more q's.. good luck!!

Fall or Spring.

If I had it to do over again, I'd consider having a Spring wedding!
I would just think of your personal tastes- what are some of your favorite colors, favorite foods?
Also, when would you want to be on your honeymoon? What are some locations you're thinking of?

I booked at the Coral House. Its got a Williamsburg sort of rustic style to it and for my fall wedding, it fit. I'm not into the ugly, patterned carpeting, the white organza draping from the center of the ceiling... anything that screams wedding hall too much!

We are getting married 12/1/12 and chose the Inn at New Hyde Park because it's gorgeous inside! We elminated any RH that had a beautiful outside because we knew we wouldn't be utilizing it. Feel free to FM me if you have any questions. IMO, there are pros and cons to every season. We are hoping that the 1st of December brings us lovely weather (no snow) although I don't think I would mind a flurry or two
