I am thinking of moving my wedding date from the summer to the winter.
Any advice?

Re: winter wedding
I'm getting married in February and the only fear I have is the weather after the mess of last year. Otherwise, I think both seasons have a lot to offer. And, depending on which month you choose it could be cheaper.

Re: winter wedding
We are getting married in the winter cuz FH's only time off is in the winter. But you will find that you can save lots of money in the winter, there is just the weather problem, which may not even be a problem.

Re: winter wedding
I'M A WINTER BRIDE ONLY BECAUSE MY FH HAS A LANDSCAPING BUSINESS AND THERE IS NO WAY WE CAN DO IT DURING HIS BUSY SEASON. I WISH I COULD OF PLANNED IT FOR THE FALL OR SPRING BUT I WOULD RATHER HIM BE MORE RELAXED ABOUT IT. AAHHH THE THINGS WE SACRIFICE!
THERE ARE POSITIVES AND NEGATIVES ABOUT HAVING A WINTER WEDDING. I THINK OF IT AS BEING CHEAPER AND A BIT DIFFERENT THEN MOST BRIDES.

Re: winter wedding
i love winter weddings - if you can brave the cold and it's snowy outside - think of hoe amazing your pictures will look with the winter wonderland in the background. I wish I cold have a winter wedding - but i'm a teacher and the longest break i have is in april (i hate summer so that wasn't even an option!!)
But I have seen some AMAZING winter wedding photographs....

Re: winter wedding
Now that's funny. My FH owns a Bagel store so we are getting married in February because it's a slow bagel month. I am a teacher and am off all summer-would have liked the longer honeymoon. But alas.............................

Re: winter wedding
Brian did not want a summer wedding, February was much cheaper than March, and we wanted an original date so we chose Leap Year. It was either that day or Valentine's Day.

Re: winter wedding
so do you only celebrate your anniversary once every 4 years? which day will you go with to celebrate? feb or march? that's a really great idea!
isn't it funny how people pick their wedding dates?

Re: winter wedding
denakimou - you can always postpone the honeymoon and go during the summer....i think that's what we're going to do instead of rushing off after our wedding!

Re: winter wedding
We will have dinner eaither the 28th or teh 1st, depending when there is a Ranger's Game~just kidding...
We will celeberate it sometime that year, but we will go all out and exchange gifts and go away every four years. It gives you something big to look forward to.

Re: winter wedding
I loved my winter wedding and my pics are beautiful with all the holiday decorations The only thing you will pay more for is honeymoon and flowers if you don't get roses

Re: winter wedding
We are having our wedding in November, we picked the date because it is the anniversary of when we first told each other we were in love...
A bonus is that we get off-season prices for many items....

Re: winter wedding
I had a winter wedding and it was great. We had a pretty blanket of snow on the ground for some pictures, the weather was great and the holiday time is just so beautiful, IMO. Plus, if you are planning on around christmas time the church is already decorated for you! We got married on 12/29 and didn't spend a penny on flowers for the church..the beautiful candles, pointsettas and x-mas trees throughout the church and on the alter looked really nice.

Re: winter wedding
I got married 1/31. It wasn't a very cold day and there was no snow... what I really LOVE about getting married about the winter is the fact that it's dark! We lit everything with candle light and it looked SO pretty!
