I am thinking of moving my wedding date from the summer to the winter.

Any advice?

Look at picture 17..out of the 18

I added a link to my Spring wedding (March 30) that turned into a winter wedding with the snow...

I think winter weddings are beautiful. I saved money by having the wedding in March. The snow in the background out the windows of FLowerfield made the day even more beautiful. I love winter weddings!

I am having a winter wedding as well. In addition to what the other ladies have posted already, I have found that since it is considered 'off season', it has made it less difficult to book some vendors. So far we have been able to book all of the vendors we really wanted without difficulties!

I had a winter wedding as well 2/16. We saved alot of $$$ and everything was great. It didn't snow, but it did rain a bit.

I too am having a winter wedding which I believe the positives of outweigh the negatives. Better price on the hall - easier booking vendors and hopeful a light dusting of snow! That sure outweighs the off chance that there might be a blizzard. There is no way of controlling the weather and I personally rather it be cold than sweltering hot. Plus any other time of year you have the same worry of rain. Friends of mine did have a blizzard on their wedding - everything was a bit more difficult but they have pictures out in the park with everythign totally covered in snow that they would never have been able to get otherwise. Just weigh the pros and cons - pros seem to win!

Another winter wedding here! January 10th - less than 6 months away!! I have to admit I am a bit nervous about the weather - a little snow would be pretty, but a blizzard could be a nightmanre. Still, I am optimisic and I think a winter wonderland is really beautiful! Also, many people have said 'oh good - something to look forward to after the holidays' Another added bonus.

We wanted to do a winter wedding, but with so much of my family and our friends travelling long distances by car or plane to get here, it would have been very inconvenient for them depending on the weather, so we're doing it in July (2 weeks) instead.

I am also having a winter wedding & I liked the idea of a slight dusting of snow on the ground for photos. Also, they sky turns the most amazing colours at sunset that does not happen in the summer.

We saved a TON of $$ on the wedding, but got hosed a bit for the HM (St. Lucia in January is pricey!)

Still, I am happy with our decision, and FH love the winter.....it is both of our favourite time of year!

ETA: we have a lot of out-of-towners & they got really good fares for the airlines & the hotel gave us a good deal as well.

Bellz...I hear you on the HM. I couldn't believe the prices. We did Sandals St. Lucia too, we are staying at Halycon.
